    Hi there

I'm not quite sure if this is the best forum to post this in, but I wanted to propose a challenge.

Here we all are doing things for the inside and outside of our bodies, but sometimes we get so wrapped up in our eating and exercising and general upkeep and maintenance, that we neglect to totally care for our mouth.

How many of you out there floss religiously every day???

Did you know that if you start flossing at least once a day today, you can combat the early symptoms of gingivitis by up to 40%?

I know that I don't floss everyday but I'm trying to make an effort after reading this fact.

I want to propose a challenge to everyone out there who has trouble committing to this most crucial act of mouth care, because I see how motivated we all are by the exercise challenges and no cheat challenges and veggie challenges.

    So here goes-

I will commit to flossing at least once a day after all my meals have been eaten for the day.

I will start a routine of Brush, Floss and then swish with mouthwash.

Who's with me??? Be honest now- we all brush our teeth...but do all of us really floss?

Think of how happy your dentist will be!

You can report in on this thread- or just post in your siggy how many days in a row out of 365 you have flossed.

Let's see how long we can go religiously flossing everyday- I bed in about a month it will become second nature!

    MUCH LUCK!

CHALLENGE WILL OFFICIALLY START ON MAY 8, 2007- THAT GIVES EVERYONE INTERESTED TIME TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF.

Great Idea for a challenge! I'm a floss fanatic, did you proper dental care including flossing can also help avoid heart issues? I find that once you start to floss on a regular basis, it becomes as necessary as brushing. I don't fell like my teeth are clean if i haven't flossed.

We do have a challenges forum, that is probably a better place for this thread, i'll see if i can get it moved for you.

yay! two in so far to make it 3...COME ON PEOPLE!!! You can do it. I actually surpassed my once a day goal so far- I flossed this morning before I brushed as well. I just went for the first check up since I last went when I was pregnant and found out that I have a tiny cavity. My mom spent a lot of money making my teeth straight so I want to make her happy and keep them as nice as possible!

            Re: oral care challenge

so since we don't have many biters (pun intended), let's start the challenge now...this is an on-going challenge so if anyone else is interested please just come on in!

            So far there's:

            Lucidlemon (that's me)
            sadie147
and heatherm422 (last but certainly not least!)

Update your progress on keeping your flossing routine however you like- if you prefer to use your siggie- update here like once a week or so.

            Have fun!!!

                  Re: oral care challenge

Well, 11 days into may and I have flossed every day!! how's everyone doing so far? My teeth actually feel way cleaner, flossing everyday- I didn't notice a difference at first, but after making sure that I do it every day- it really does make a difference in how my mouth feels.

I'm trucking away with my flossing- I bet all you other flossers are too. I've been off the boards for a bit, enjoying the sun and fun before I'm off my maternity leave- I'm going to make sure I check in at least every week though. Take care!
