My weekend is going to comprise of a bottle of vodka shared with friends on Saturday night, then im taking my daughter to see Linkin Park in concert on Sunday, so next week I will be deaf . And as I left the power cable for my laptop at work, I wont be doing any work. After all the exam trauma next week, i deserve a few days off academia!!

        Hello everyone!

I made it back to and completely passed up my beginning weight of 186.6...I'm now 184.6! This my lowest weight since adulthood, and I'm thrilled! I've lost about 14lbs since the 19th of this month, and I'm just hoping the losses keep up. I'm only 19lbs from goal--so close, I can taste it! I can't find my stupid tape measure, and it's driving me nuts! I'd really like to see how I'm doing on inches, but I guess I'll have to wait until I can get to Wally World and buy a new one. It's super cold here (32 degrees, windchill less than 26 degrees) and I aint leaving my house unless I just have to!

Looks like TOM has hit a lot of us this week! May we all see the whoosh fairy. Sorry to hear about your brain tumor, thank god it is benign.

You were suppose to do the vodka last week when you had no water, lol! Have fun at the concert!

Iyshia, that is fantastic, a low weight for adulthood! I can sympathize with you on the cold. I picked up the wrong set of keys today when I went to pick up my daughter, went to the grocery and got home to realize I was locked out in the cold rain. My daughter ended up climbing the back fence and breaking in the window so we could get in, all soak and wet and cold of course. Let's drink to a warmer weekend!

                Thanks Atkid!

It's an awful feeling to realize that you've locked yourself out of anything! I locked myself out of my car once, while it was still running with less than 1/4 tank of gas in it Oh, did I mention the spare set of keys were w/ my mother at work 45 min away! But to be locked out, and in the rain and cold had to suck big time! Glad you guys in ok...make sure you grab the right set next time! That was my one and only stranded lockout, I was 18 and I'll be 27 this year...hoping to continue the key memory trend

Looks like things continue to go in the right direction for me this week. I am hoping for good results with my weigh in on Monday.

I also got the results of my physical back yesterday afternoon and I am really confused. I posted this on the cholesterol thread, but I figured that I would also post it here, to see what ya'll thought.

                        Here are the results:
Resting Heart Rate 66 (which is really low. It represents that I am getting pretty fit)
                        Blood Pressure 120/80 (pretty good)
Measured High Ketone levels in my urine (which meant that I was in ketosis when they did the physical. The doctor thought it was because of fasting before the physical, but WE know that it is due to burning more fat with Atkins rather than storing glucose)

Here is the dilema and I am not sure, why this is an issue, but then I'm not a doctor.

Triglycerides = 69 (in the optimal range)
LDL (bad cholesterol) = 124 (in the near optimal range)
HDL (good cholesterol) = 85 (in the optimal range)
Total cholesterol = 223 (in the borderline high range)

How do you go from being in the optimal to near optimal range in all categories, but when it is figured together, end up with borderline high cholesterol??? The doctor wants me to cut out red meat, eggs, and saturated fats and come back in three months to have it checked again. Not sure how I can do that on Atkins. I would think that all of the other numbers DO NOT support that. In fact, I would say that it is evident that my body is becoming a fat burning machine and actually operates better with fat in my system. Then again, I am not a doctor! I am just puzzled. Am I missing something???

i don't know what your doctor is talking about, everything looks good including your hdl to total cholesterol ratio. I think you need a new doctor!!

Don, what is your dr all in a huff about? I'll bet losing that last 10 lbs turns it around even more... and your cholesterol goes in the normal range... That's gotta be frustratin though!
Oh, Atkid, I hate getting locked out! I need to hide a key or something... it happens too frequently around here. I go for a walk and someone comes home and locks the house up and leaves again.... I come home and can't get in!!!! ack!

It did give me an excuse last night though. I knew that I read somewhere that red wine actually helped lower ldl cholesterol, so I opened up some shiraz and had a glass!
