That's fantastic FA in LA. (I live in the next county, I am coming to Santa Ana Friday and I am going to Disney on Monday!) Anyway! I think variety is the key here. I get bored easily and kudos to you for doing belly dancing.

Hey! Does anyone else feel like vomiting a little bit when they do a whole bunch of crunches?

I need to find some kind of sport that I enjoy, cause I really bore quickly with "exercising"
Thank goodness Spring is here cause I'm really just doing enough exercise to keep up with the commitments I made in the challenges, hating every minute of it. If I'm gonna build up a sweat I want there to be a visible purpose!! So by the end of this challenge, I would like to be engrossed in something FUN for exercise (and, because we're broke, it has to be relatively CHEAP!!) Suggestions welcome for some basic solitary activity??

Okay, here goes!! I started this WOL in a size 22 pants. These are size 14s. Yes, I had to lay on the bed to get them buttoned and my six-year-old daughter had to help me up. I was so exhausted from trying to get them buttoned that I had to lay where I was at for about 5 minutes before attempting to move. I have a big booty so my pants are always more loose in the waist as you'll notice in the first pic. I just so loved how all the fat was pushed to the top.

When I am on my last set of crunches, instead of numbers coming out coming out of my mouth, sometimes it's bad words.

Okay, I fought with myself over whether to use my chip and pepper size 32 jeans as my goal jeans. When I bought them last month I could get them to my knees two inches above my knees and last week they stopped right before my thighs. So I took a deep breath and tried them on again since my thighs looked a little smaller... maybe. WOW, they actually went up my thighs even with both legs in them (when I bought them I could get them a couple inches up my thigh if I only put one leg in)!!! My thighs are shrinking! Really shrinking!!!! I have a big butt that is mostly depth so they would probably fit if it weren't for my thighs. I had to cheat and wear a spandex girdle shorts things so I didn't end up with obscene pictures The second picture is a gorgeous dress I wore twice before I outgrew it

You know what is so hard about taking the pictures? I always always suck in my tummy a little bit and for the pictures I just let it all hang out! I know it is more accurate but I just want to keep it sucked in! I'm feeling proud of myself for not sucking it in but man, it is hard to look at the pictures!! Can't wait for the better ones! I may try to buy something white tonight, If I do then I will repost pictures wearing them!

This is a good article about exercises to get a flat stomach.

                          Exercising Your Love Handles

Love handles. Ah yes....the affectionate term given to that flabby area on the sides of your abdomen that you can't seem to get rid of.

The anatomic term for them is "obliques" and unfortunately this area of the body is often neglected when it comes to exercising the stomach and ab areas.

Again, I cannot stress enough that you have to start with long-duration aerobic exercise if you want to trim any part of your stomach.

Spot toning will prove ineffective because you need to raise your metabolism enough to burn that extra love handle fat. Remember, it's all about total body fitness and losing weight all over.

If you've been reading this site, you're probably tired of me mentioning that, but that is the #1 misconception about stomach toning. You have to get your entire body into shape before you start seeing results.

Start a cardio exercise program at your home. Either buy aerobics DVDs or subscribe to a cool site like WorkoutPass.com.

This has got to be one of the coolest fitness sites I've ever seen. You'll gain access to hundreds of different exercise programs from one site, and you never have to leave your home. There are tons of different cardio exercise routines to help you burn fat and reduce those stubborn love handles.

While doing basic crunches will help eliminate some of the fat around the obliques, here are some other exercises that focus more on the love handle area.

                          Leg Flutters

A lot of people don't realize that in order to tone your middle and love handle area you also need to strengthen your back. This creates a balance in your torso and reduces the fat on your back.

                          1. Lie on your stomach and lift your head up slightly

                          2. You can keep your arms straight out at your sides or bend them with your elbows resting beside you.

                          3. Lift your feet and knees off the floor and flutter your legs rapidly back and forth. Do this for 20 seconds. Take a 20 second break and then repeat again.

                          Twist Crunches

This exercise will work your internal and external obliques as well as the rectus abdominis. These are the two muscle groups that live around your waist. Fat is generally stored on top of these muscles, thus creating the love handle effect.

                          1. Lie on your back with your knees bent.

                          2. Carefully lift your head up and place your hands behind your head without locking your fingers together.

                          3. Twist to the right bringing your left elbow to your right knee. Extend your left leg out.

                          4. Now twist back to the left bringing your right elbow to your left knee. Extend your right leg out.

                          5. Repeat 25 times.

                          Standing Trunk Twists

This is a good aerobic-type exercise that will help get your heart rate up as well as burn some calories in your middle.

                          1. Stand with your feet about a foot apart and knees relaxed.

                          2. Twist your torso to the left while keeping your hips and legs as stable as possible. As you twist to the left, cross your right arm in front of your body in a punching motion.

                          3. Twist back to the right and cross your left arm over your body in a punching motion.

                          4. Do 100 reps.

                          The Bottom Line:

Just like with any stomach trimming exercises, love handles will only firm up if you start increasing your body's metabolism by exercising 3-4 times per week for at least 30 minutes. This does not only include crunches, sit ups, etc but aerobic-type exercises that will get your heart rate up.

                          http://www.flat-stomach-exercises.com/love-handles.html

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

"Some men give up their designs when they have almost reached the goal; While others, on the contrary, obtain a victory by exerting, at the last moment, more vigorous efforts than ever before."
