I am down on formal exercise too (mainly my swimming and walking) but it seems I am doing a lot more outside since it is spring. School is really cutting into my time, I am having projects and having to go meet with classmates during time I usually swim and I am so tired afterwards I probably would drown if I tried to swim. I have been doing my ab work though and eating right so that is a definite plus.

I agree! I used to work in my mom's garden and that was harder than three hours in the gym. All exercise is, is a replacement for activity and manual labor.

I was love to play tennis again. We have raquetball courts at our gym, I want to do some of that this summer. I need to get back to swimming too. I really enjoy that, it is just school is cutting into it right now. I will be able to start back swimming on Thursday.

Yep, any exercise counts. There was a chores-based exercise thread on here a while back.

My exercise is bad due to illness and food is wavering, jeans fit okayish but no change than last time - still would slightly embarassed to wear them for joe public.

It only makes sense. Surely our ancestors who farmed their own food, hunted, chopped wood, etc hardly had time for "formal" exercise....nor the need.
That said....I like my gas powered lawn mower just fine, thank you I like it even better when my husband uses it!

My mom had 11 kids, but never weighed more than 120 when not pregnant. She raised us on a farm. I am the youngest at 58, but I remember her still washing clothes on a washboard! She ironed everything--sheets, underwear--everything. She made all our clothes (on a treadle sewing machine), raised about an acre of garden and made all our food from scratch. She baked some kind of bread every day, churned butter, made homemade cottage cheese and buttermilk--yum! She was a tiny little dynamo. She would have laughed at having to do any 'formal' exercise to stay in shape!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

I am a country girl too and I remember chopping wood, throwing hay bales on a truck and picking peas. I am only 41 and I remember my food being cooked on a wood cook stove. I used to get off the school bus and lay my books on the back of the car and catch my horse and ride until dark. I never had a problem with weight then and I ate biscuits (and fat back) every day!

YAY!!! Congrats. I wrote this big huge long post yesterday but then work interfered and i inadvertantly navigated away from the page before completing my post. I wanted to try to get everyone to post an update. I am hovering around 165. I have decided to go back to induction for a few to see if i can kickstart the losses. I would love it if everyone could post something they struggle with regarding this WOL. I struggle with cream. I LOVE IT. So i have cut it out. We will see if that helps.

Have we decided yet how we are posting the "after pics". I have been mia for a little while with my new job. Are we going to do one thread in the before and after pics section and everyone post in that one thread or are we going to go back to our original pics and paste our after beside our before or...are we going to start a whole new thread else where with our with before and after. Just wondering how hard its going to be to find all the results, I cant wait to see them!!!

albeit late, really late, I am joining this challenge. There are two more months to go, and I've got 4 articles of clothing i want to fit in.

1.) my fav. jeans from a couple years ago, havent tried them on in over a year, so who knows what I'm in for.

2.) pair of like size 27 pants i saw at the thrift store and had to have. I'm a 33 now, so I don't expect them to fit by June 21st, but come closer!

3.) my board shorts from 4 years ago. I wore them at 156 lbs that summer. Right now I'm 165.

4.) This pair of Marc Jacobs jeans i ordered off of ebay. They are labeled as a size 12....but they're clearly not. I wear a size 12 right now, and I can't get these more than 6 inches over my knees. I think they're really an 8-10.

Pics up by the end of the night!
