      Oopsie...I put some splenda in my coffee this morning b/c I ran out of my stevia packets.

      Sherrie...I thought I had been taking L-Glutamine, but I haven't. So, I bought some on Saturday...500mg. I take 2 in the morning 1 at lunch and 1 in the evening. I have already noticed a huge difference in my cravings. Is there a certain way I should take this suppliment or does it matter?

      The splenda in my coffee has never really been an issue...it's more of the sweet type of desserts that will cause me to go on a binge. However, I really want to beat the sugar monster...so in my effort in doing so I will make sure I always have stevia in my cabinet. I just won't buy Splenda anymore and that will solve that little problem.

      I'm kind of thinking out loud as I am typing. Sorry if I seem like I am babbling. LOL

        Hi Kelly,
        Here's the deal with L-Glutamine.
        Take L-glutamine (not glutamic acid). to help control "irresisable" cravings for sweets. Begin with 1 200mg capsul or tablet(I take gel capsule form) three times a day for one week. Then INCREASE the dose to 2 capsuls or tablets three times a day for one week.
        After two weeks, if you feel more alert, more inergetic, and have lost your craving for sweets, you can then experiment with the amount of L-glutamine you take until you find the best level for you.

              Day 9 Sweetener Free

              I've been tempted to buy anything sweet for the past few days. Once I almost bought a muffin, I asked for it then I changed my mind. Another time I went to the store to buy some chicken, and I almost bought a candy bar. I made a U-turn and put the candy bar back.

              I came home and made a fruit smoothie, satisfied. I used whey protein, frozen berries, light coconut milk, water, stevia, and ground flax seed. I was so satisfied! I found this in a cookbook for people with thyroid problems, but it is also sweetener free!

              I saw another cookbook called "Dee's Mighty Cookbook", it has sugar-free, sweetener-free and flourless recipes. I'm going to buy it when I go back there on Wednesday. Maybe I'll post 1 recipe a week or every 2 weeks here or on the other forum for recipes. What do you think, Sherrie?

                    Day 10 Sweetener Free

                    Here's one recipe I do every day in the afternoon:

                    1 cup frozen fruit or banana
                    1 scoop Whey Protein (no sugar)
                    1/2 cup coconut milk (light)
                    1/2 cup water
                    1 Tablespoon flaxseed oil or 3 Tablespoons ground flaxseed
                    2-3 drops stevia extract (better for cold beverages) or 1-2 packets of stevia

                    Blend all ingredients in a blender.

                    I used 1/2 cup frozen berries and a small banana plus everything else. I think maybe next time I'm going to try adding an extra smoothie (after dinner) using fat-free yogurt (refrigerated-type) instead of light coconut milk (good fat), find out how that tastes.

                          Day 11 Sweetener Free

                          Grocery Shopping Day! Had my breakfast, cooked and carrying my lunch (salad and chicken) today. I take my time shopping, and take my ice chest for any refrigerated foods. Pick up my frozen berries (Wyman's is the best, may cost a little more when not on sale) last before heading home.

                          Most of the frozen berries look old and gross, if you tried letting them defrost they're mushy. That's why I buy Wyman's at natural foods market, health stores might have it. I have Trader Joe's, Sprouts and Whole Foods markets here, they're like indoor farmers' markets and then some. They sell a lot of ORGANIC foods, vitamins, cleaning supplies (personal and household) and cookbooks.

                              I received an email from a friend, she gave a list of cake recipes. Wow, I'm going to try one or two and make some changes using no sugar, sweeteners or flour. That's a challenge for me, I haven't taken a look at the recipes yet. I hope they're not from a box! Hee hee! Anyway, it'll be a long way from attempting to experiment with one. I just wanted to let you know. Hm-m-mph! Why did she send me them?! No worries! Forget it!
                              This would happen if sugar was eaten, constipation. Oh my, embarrassing! I'm going to get rid of that list of recipes, but I won't tell her. Sh-h-h! Don't you tell! See you later! lol
