      Hi Sherri!

      Can I join ya with the goal of 143 days?? I succumbed to the evil atkins bars yesterday. I had a choice but made the wrong one to cope with the fact I couldn't cook what I needed to.

        I noticed another thing when allowing myself sweetners for the 25 days that I ate them, my face broke out. It's just now clearing up. Alot of toxins in that crap! Another reason to stay away from them and the foods that contain them.

                  it looks like you've beat those cravings! I am on day 1 again. Am aiming ofr at least 84 days this time (as am doing the BFL exercise programme). 143 would be good too though!

                      Hi DesertRain,

                      Lol, no BLF = Body For Life a weight and cardio based programme. It also has its own diet but I'm just doing the exercise part. The web site is useful for finding out ideas for weight training and high intensity interval training (HIIT). Body-for-LIFE

                      With it basically you do 3x weight training per week (alternating upper and lower body) and 3x 20 mins HIIT cardio.

                      There is a challenge that takes 12 weeks (84 days).

                      Day 2 here.

                        I feel like such a dum dum! I thought you meant the Big Fat Loser challenge that's on TV, I keep hearing about it and maybe just hopeful that you knew what it consists of. I can't believe I didn't think of Body For Life, especially considering I've been following the "BFL" training for almost 2 weeks now! LOL! I'm like you though, not following the diet (lol, obviously that's why we are all here). I also go more than 20 minutes on cardio....
                        Anyhoo, congrats on starting....and on your no sweet days!

                        I am back to DAY 1 on this challenge! ( I actually hid the Splenda and I'm thinking about bringing the box and leaving it at mom's)

                            Interesting you are doing BFL exercise too Desertrain - how are you finding it? I did lower body today - do not enjoy that one! If you can't keep away from the splenda giving to someone else to keep is a good idea. Or if you are giving up for good, dissolve it! Quite satisfying - I've done that at least 3 times (keep buying it then regretting it). Bit of a waste, but it gets rid

                              Alexa,
                              I'm already noticing my shoulders shaping up, but I have a personal trainer and he really pushes me, so it's kinda like I'm cheating with the BFL but his training is coincides with it. I told him that I wanted to follow the BFL training and he set up my sessions that way. I am doing upper body today, did legs and abs on Monday and my tooshie still hurts because I kicked it up a notch from last week. Can I ask you, do you do the same exercises per muscle group ever week?

                              Sherri, way to go on getting to that 14 days! I can't wait to be there again! I'm so done with sweeteners LOL. I remember when you were on day 1 and it's been 2 weeks already....you're always an inspiration!

                                Soda Quota
                                Regular soda is definitely out because it a major calorie overload — but guess what, I don't want you drinking diet soda either! I'm a former diet soda addict myself, and believe me, it almost killed me to get off that junk. After I stopped drinking it every day, though, I could definitely feel the difference being off those chemicals!

                                As I've grown in the health and wellness realm, I've become very passionate about being natural and organic with what I'm putting into my body. While the FDA still doesn't ban these products, I could go on and on about research I've found about aspartame (the sweetener in Diet Coke). The main thing I want you to do is try your best to limit your exposure to it.
                                If strictly water (the best option!) is out of the question, drink unsweetened ice tea or coffee — both have zero calories. If you need to sweeten your coffee or tea, xylitol and stevia are better, more natural options than sucralose (Splenda). Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener that's extracted from the fibers of certain fruits and vegetables, and stevia comes from a South American plant.
                                I personally use xylitol all the time, usually one packet at a time in my coffee or tea. It's nontoxic, but since it's a sugar alcohol, you could have digestive issues if you use a lot of it. I've never had a problem.
