  • Halloween Challenge 2008!

    Hello all!

    Halloween is just around the corner, and I know some of you have to love this creepy crawly holiday as much as I do! Wouldn't it be fun to dress up and celebrate as a slimmer, healthier, happier you? Pick a goal (or goals!) you want to achieve by Halloween whether it's losing a certain amount of weight, drinking water, exercising, sticking to your diet plan, etc. etc.



    The rules:
    - Sign up here to join the challenge.
    - Tell us the goals you ARE going to achieve by this Halloween.
    - Check in at least once a week to share your progress and support other challenge members.
    - And a must, on Halloween make sure to take a picture of the brand new you all dressed up to share with us afterwards!

    The goals I'd like to reach by Halloween:

    Stick to my diet plan.
    Drink a LOT more water than I do now!
    Do something active every day.
    Fit into a dress I hope to wear as part of my costume (or better yet, have it be too big!)
    Feel confident and happy and ready to have fun on Halloween!

      I am in!

      Starting first thing tomorrow

      My goals are:

      1.) Drink at least 64 oz water daily
      2.) Exercise 5x a week
      3.) Lose at least 15 lbs
      4.) Daily Vitamins
      5.) No CHEATS

      I promise to post here daily during the week and I will post a pic of my Halloween costume.

        I love halloween!!!
        Let's see...
        1) Loose at least 15 pounds
        2) Try to fit into the dress I NEED to wear to my friend's wedding on Nov. 8th.
        3) Weigh myself twice a week(or at most three times a week).
        4) Celebrate without candy!!!!

          Halloween! !!! My all-time fav holiday! (ok ... no candy corn this year) ... a Halloween Challenge sounds great. So, I resolve to:
          1) Go to the gym at least 3 days a week
          2) Walk 3-5 days a week
          3) Drink a minimum of 72 oz. water daily
          4) Lose at least 10 more pounds by Oct. 31
          5) Rustle up some sort of costume to pose foolishly in!

            I was just thinking of wanting to do a Halloween Challenge, awesome, can I join?
            Uhm here's what I want:

            drink 100oz of water each day
            exercise 4-5 times a week
            not cheat
            lose 15 pounds
            fit in a smaller pair of jeans
            look cute in my costume!!!!

                  When does this challenge start? I'm totally in!

                  My goals are to excercise 5-6 days a week
                  drink at least 90 oz. of water

                  I don't want to put a weight amount cause I know it will just discourage me if I don't make that goal, so I"m just going to go with feeling better and looking good! Finally a reason to get dressed up again since I'm to old to go trick or treating!!!

                    The challenge starts as soon as you sign up!

                    I've been struggling a bit on my water goals, I almost need to get a big tank of a cup and keep it with me all day. I just don't think of it til it's too late! Exercise has mainly been taking our 3 month old baby for walks in the stroller - does that count? I hope so!

                    Keep up the good work everyone! I can't wait to see everyone's "after" pics!!

                      Bunny, I would think taking care of a 3-month-old baby would be pretty good exercise in and of itself! (I've never had kids, but I can imagine ) When I input my FitDay data, I always include cleaning and gardening in my Activities file ... it adds up!

                      Speaking of exercise, I went to the gym this morning and 1) the gal was almost an hour late in opening up (they're supposed to open at 7 a.m.); and then she proceeded to make up a sign which said: "Curves will be closing Sept. 26!" Great. I only signed up on Sept. 2nd! Glad I only paid for a month :P Well, my town has three gyms, so I have no excuse ... the other two are less expensive, anyway!

                      IrishMom, I agree ... looking and feeling good are way more important than the numbers on a scale ... scales are evil! Speaking of which ... Tink, congrats on avoiding yours! Good girl

                      Mojo ...take your vits! You and your little "kiddle" are so cute in that picture! Hi, Angie! It will be fun to see what costumes we all come up with

                        Ha! You know I think you're right. By the time I load up the kiddo and the diaper bag that I swear has got to weigh 10 pounds with all the crap I stuff in, I gotta be burning SOME calories pushing that stroller around!

                        Working hard on drinking my water today - I feel like I should lug my laptop into the bathroom and just chat from there. Had a good breakfast and about to have an on plan, yummy lunch! Hope everyone's doing well today!

                            I like all your goals.

                            My goals:
                            - keep exercising 6 x a week - stay engaged in it
                            - stay in the challenges
                            - keep drinking 72-100 oz of water
                            - stay cheat free (even with candy out and birthdays coming)
                            - get to Onederland aka 199 lbs. (so I am definitely there by my birthday 11/3)
                            - rewards will be something related to new, healthy activities

                              Oh goodie ... more Halloweenies! Hi Laura, hi gman!

                              So how's everyone today? Started out with a cup o' joe and a coupla hen fruits; went for a brisk walk around the park (dodging Muscovy ducks and squirrels along the way); did the grocery shopping (hooray! they had fresh turkey breast!); hustled through the Domestic Engineer routine and here I sit.

                              Say, did anyone else gain a lot of weight after they first got their home computer? I've only had mine two years and became so enthralled with the "intertubes" that I gained 17 pounds the first year! Not blaming the 'puter ... no one put a gun to my head, after all . But time does fly when you're blogging and drawing and site-hopping! It stimulates the brain cells but, unfortunately, not the fat cells. Now, if someone would invent Aerobic Blogging, I would do that in a heartbeat!
