  • I CHALLENGE you! Drop it by September!

    Hey guys!

    Who wants to challenge me? I need a good kick in the pants to get going again. I did SO well the first round, and had a bunch of false starts for the past year (lots of excuses, none good enough).

    I've gained 20 lbs. BACK. :yikes

    Now I want to get those 20 lbs., plus 20 more, off by my 33rd birthday - this September. I want to get back into those sexy size 16 jeans again (see photo) and stay in them!

    Who's with me? 40 lbs. can be done, I'm here to tell you. I started at 304, and dropped to 210 in 10 months. It took will power galore, exercise, water and the rest was smooth sailing. If I can do it, so can you! Of course, you don't have to lose 40, but I'm certainly gunning for it!! :guns

      Hi there- I'll join you if your still doing it...
      sept 1st will be my 1 year date so thats a good thing- dont be discoraged by the no respnces some get freaked out by long challences i used to be like that so ive been dfoing the 3 months ones like the one thats going on now the march - june challenge, but this is yours so how do you want to do it.....?
      ive done atkins since sept 1 of last year so that was 8 months on the 1st of this month ive been on it pretty sticked except for holidays i would do a 3 day or so binge(which i dont reccommend)lol
      but the past 2 weeks ive been off and on good on weekdays bad on weekends, but this past week was horrible i seriously had pizza like 4 times last week, so im back to doing my extended induction except it hasnt been a clean one as ive used fraken foods but i need to get my butt in gear again...
      so id love to be at about 150 or so by then- wow i just realized how long this was - i really rambled.lol

        Ok I am in. I want to lose 60 by Sept 1st.
        Have been cheating for about a week now. Will start clean induction tomorrow. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.
        Will weigh in tomorrow, I know its going to be bad, I am scared.
        How are we going to do this? weigh in weekly? post food? water? exercise? Let me know.

          I'm not discouraged, but for the record a "long" challenge for me is 1 year. Hehe.

          Besides, a 5 month willpower/determination/goal stretch is good for you!

          Since I started Atkins a couple years ago, I realized how many food allergies I had to everything I was eating pre-induction. Getting off all of that stuff has changed my health dramatically. So I basically eat induction-wise all the time, but with a few personal tweaks (it's low-carb, but not strictly Atkins-style). I'm moving through to a clean Atkins-style induction right now, though.

          I weigh in every Sunday morning, unless I'm going out of town, then I'll usually weigh in Friday morning.

          Edited to add: I really have no "rules" for what you should post about what you've done since you last weighed in - post what you want. I weigh in weekly on Sundays, so maybe you guys can do that as well.

            :yikes I weighed in this morning wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was down to 277.2 last time I weighed in alittle over a week ago. Now I am up to 283.2, I was fearing it would be worse. I also have not done any exercise in that time, such a bad girl I have been :no .
            To get to my Sept. goal of 220 I need to lose 63.2 lbs.
            Today I am going to clean up my act, and I am even going to down all that water (which I have trouble with).
            I will weigh in on Sundays also.
            I am going to try to get my mile walk in today too, NO, I am going to get my mile walk in today!!!

              well my siggy says 181.5 but i know i went up a lot cuz ive been off and on for the past 2 weeks and totally off the last week, and its TOM so i will post my weight loss again once im back at 181.5

                Hey if u are still doing this i am in!

                I want to reach my goal weight by august 29th but a few extra days can't hurt!
                I am 168 now.....up five lbs after i feel off the wagon and i want do be below 140....i am saying 135 right now b/c it's an even number but well see how i look after i break the 140's maybe it'll be higher maybe it'll be lower but i def know that i want to be below the 1-4-0 mark!

                as for weigh in days......how about mondays? for me.....?

                  Welcome aboard ciabella and everyone. :wave You can weigh in whenever you like, I have no strict rules for the challenge except that you follow thru!

                  I'm going out of town this weekend, but I'm going to take my scale with me, stick to induction, and weigh in Sunday morning. I don't know that I'll report my weight until Monday or Tuesday though, since I'll likely be too busy to get on the computer.

                  Remember a pound gained here and there is nothing to get discouraged about... it's a normal part of metabolism to gain and lose weight all day long, every day, as your body is constantly calculating and recalculating, distributing and redistributing. It's all good, just stay on track and the weight'll come off.

                      Count me in!! I'm aiming for August 19 because that's when I start my college orientation for transfer students ...but ideally by September 1....I would like to have lost 50lbs...or at least be around a size 6!

                      Okay...we can do it everyone!! Just gotta remember that although we're setting goals...it's the long term that matters more at the end of the day...losing that weight...AND KEEPING IT OFF FOR GOOD!

                        AtkinsLegit-- just wanted to say i jsut realized that our stats are very very similar.... how tall are you.... and if you dont mind what size are you wearing now and also when you 1st started..

                          hey ztachick!
                          I'm also 5'5 and I officially started atkins on May 2,2005...before that was following my own weight loss recipe...but was definitely not long term manageable that's why I switched to atkins. Right now I'm wearing a 12/14...by any chance would you be interested in being like weightloss buddies to offer encouragement, etc. because besides a similar amount of weight to lose, we are also around the same age (I'll be 20 in a month and a 1/2)

                              I'm in on this challenge too! I am aiming to be in onederland by Sept, labour day weekend! That's 36 lbs. It will have been over 20 years since I have seen the one hundreds. I can hardly wait to be there!!! :joy :joy
