  • The"Struggling and coming back to Atkins"challenge

    :wave Hi, all!

I love Atkins, as I am sure you all do but it has been very hard for me to stay on lately and I have once again gotten myself in hot water with cheating. I am deciding to take my life and eating back and get back on track with Atkins. Anybody who is struggling or coming back on want to join me? We could post about our difficulties in coming back/staying on Atkins, post our daily menus, and post goals on how to stay on track for the week and any exercise we plan to do. We can hopefully be a comfort to each other and encourage each other to stay on plan. I have noticed that there really isn't a forum here for those of us who continually struggle or fall off Atkins and get back on. How about it? Any takers?

    I will start, I guess.

It has been vey hard for me to stay on Atkins and have been cheating lately. I am re-starting Atkins today and trying to stay on track. My goal for the week is not weight loss, but to have a clean week with no cheating and ignore my emotional eating tendencies.

    Goals:

    1. to ignore my emotional eating

    2. have a clean week with no cheating by being careful of what I eat.

    3. track my food on fitday and in my journal.

    4. to do some type of exercise at least 2 times this week.

    5. make sure that I plan ahead my meals so that I won't cheat.

    Breakfast:

    3 eggs
    a meat patty

    Lunch:

a small slice of Biker Goddess's pizza
    a salad

    Dinner:

    3 chicken breasts
    salad or some broccoli

    drinks:

    74 oz of water
    1 can of diet rite

Good job, Shelly!! I have been doing good myself.

            breakfast:

3 eggs with shredded cheese on the top (2 oz)

            Lunch:

            tuna salad with 3 eggs
            lettuce leaves (for wrapping)

            Dinner:

            Bikergoddess pizza
            small salad
            broccoli

I haven't exercised today. That is really hard for me because I am so lazy after work! LOL! Last thing I want to do is exercise after dealing with rude customers all day. My feet hurt, my back hurts and walk away the pounds is the last thing I want to do. But I need to force myself to do some exercise whether I like it or not; even though my feet aren't exactly up to it. :grumble
Well, I am going to try to do my video tomorrow even though I am tired. *sigh*

Never mind shelly, it's not the end of the world! Todays a new day, it will happen for sure.

Hope your daughter had a great birthday, don't they grow up far too quick, my boys just grow so quick, I wish it would slow down a little!

It's my Mums 60th Birthday today and we have a big family function, which I've organised...bit daunting really. Hoping it will be good, we lost
dad a year ago nearly to the day as he turned 60 and I know she feels
sad that they are not seeing this big birthday in together.

I've done good but not sure what today holds, I'm tierd and irritable as my little one has been up alot during the night with his teeth, its never a
good start when I feel shattered and alot of nice food is around :anger.

                Have a good day :hug

:hug I know that this is a hard time for you. Just look at your goals, though. You just made your mini goal! I am proud of you. Don't ruin it now after all your hard work. This is very stressful you and your mom but we have to learn to feel the feelings and not numb them with food because that is what we do. Be strong for yourself and your mom and don't give in to eating.

Just think of us cheering you on ( ha ) and being in your corner! You are doing well, make your dad proud because he is watching you too. :hug

Agh, your words are very important to me, thank-you. It went really well, my mum had a great day and was so touched by her special day,
                    and she so deserved it.

I did good, ate really well, no snacks or nibbles just good quality carb free meats and fish with a little salad.

I have given up hams and pork rinds as the high sodium content worries me, so snacks are mainly eggs and a little chesse and I feel much happier for this.

Really want to get to my next goal on schedule...which is only 2 days away!

                    Thaks for your support :hug

IM PROUD OF YOU SALLY for being able to eat right. Glad you had a good time and everything went well. I like you snack ideas of eggs and cheese, will have to do that with alot of water. I have not been doing so good. i weighed myself today and im at 179.0 up from 175.4 :no . i feel so bad. I know that I wont make my May challenge of 160.0 so instead of dropping out of the challenge im changing my goal weight to 170.0. I feel good that all the birthdays and mothers day is over. They hubby suprised my yesterday with a chinease lunch buffet for mothers day ( he knows i love chinease). Hope you all are doing well seem to be doing better than i am at getting back into induction.

Alright! 1/2 a day cheat free is better than no day cheat free!!! My goals are pretty much the same. I am gonna get real serious this week!

                            1. Drink all my water.

                            2. stay clean for 3 days out of this week.

                            3. exercise at least twice this week.

                            4. prepare ahead of time for my meals.

                            breakfast:

                            bad bad girl----I missed breakfast

                            lunch:

                            hot wings
                            small side salad

                              Hi Ladies :wave

Thanks Shelly for your kindly words.

Shelly and JuJu I know how you are both feeling when it comes to
staying on track. After our bootcamp, I felt so well, had not had
so much energy for a long time. I liked myself again, which was nice.

However I soon slipped, and could not get it back together and then
I got to the stage that I’d failed so much with this WOE that it was effecting me in everything I was doing and I had no energy, felt
drained and I could not afford to feel like it any longer.

I had to do something to help, so I made a few notes to motivate
me and help me move forward.

Here are my notes that I carried around with me and still do.

1.Wake up to reality; identify what keeps going wrong,
stop wasting the energy in feeling miserable about cheating and
employ the energy in handling a resolve.

                              2. Learn from my mistakes; I’ve made errors before,
now learn the lesson – fast; otherwise I’m going to keep making
the same mistakes. Get it – then get over it!

                              3. Refuse to be beaten; I need to eat well in order to have a
fulfilled life for myself and my family. Defeat is not an option,
whatever the outcome. Handling this will allow me to feel victorious,
I want to feel proud that I can rise to the occasion and did
                              everything I could.

                              4. Embrace the failures; I must fail in order to succeed,
many powerful women have many failures too. It’s the risk you take
and the price you pay for having ambitions. Failure is not the
worst thing – never trying in the first place is!

                              5. Let it go; deal with anything that may hinder your progress.
Winston Churchill said “A successful person is somebody who goes
from one failure to another without any loss of enthusiasm”
                              make sure that’s me!

                              6. Carry on improving; keep moving don’t stop here.

                              7. Live well; Lead the life of an indestructible self believer. I have
all the knowledge to do this, now live the dream.

                              8. Be great; I am taking full responsibility for my life, not blaming anyone, just doing my best.

Snacks became an issue for me, I crept into the habit of eating more snacks which quickly add up in carbs and calories, so it had to stop,
mind you I try not to avoid eating too much cheese in case it stalls me.

Shelly, it’s not the end of the world that your weight has increased! It does not mean that it’s the end of your dreams. Use your increase as a way to renew and inspire you to get back onto a carb free WOE. You may find that the increase will make you dig deeper and feel stronger and better than ever. Perspective + thought = reality!

Really glad your both keeping your goals, it shows you in the right
frame of mind not to be beaten.

Keep posting your daily progress, I am sure it helps us. It makes a difference to me. Today is my target day, I’ve not weighed in yet but will do in a short while…don’t feel like Im down in weight, feel as if I have fluid retention (could be antibiotics).

Hey ho time to go. Have a good day, speak later ladies :hug
