  • Boffins create zombie dogs

SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation for humans.

US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.
Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.

The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity.

But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock.

Plans to test the technique on humans should be realised within a year, according to the Safar Centre.

Yeah, did you see the picture in the article! :yikes Do you think that's really one of the dogs or did they look for a really scarey looking dog pic to put in there?

If that's really one of them, I'm with you, Jake. Watch out zombie dogs! :guns

I'd probably bare my teeth too though if I'd just had new blood pumped into my dead frozen body and then been jolted!

What a rough way to start the morning! lol

I thought the same thing myself. Why would they use that pic? Is this what they think a zombie dog would look like?

I guess. You know how the media likes the shock value of stuff.

O.k, if this is true I'm making sure that I've got plenty of ammo for our FAL and Ruger so Jake and I can become new best friends. :geek Damn, that is some scary stuff. There's some things in nature I just don't think should be meddled with. But that's just me.
