Yikes! I finished reading the book late last night. I'll have to do a re-read because I'm sure I didn't read some parts as carefully as I should have.

But all I can say is.............

    WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

I was right! I was right!! I was right!!!!

    Harry's Love Life-----I WAS RIGHT!

    Harry----I'm 99.99999999999999% I WAS RIGHT!

    Ron and Hermione--------I WAS RIGHT!

    Percy, Fred/George------I WAS RIGHT!

    Dumbledore-------I WAS RIGHT!

    Snape--------I WAS RIGHT!

    Draco-------I was sorta RIGHT!

I used to belong to an HP discusion group and I remember getting into a HUGE fight with one person who kept telling me that I shouldn't base any of my opinions on what I think Rowling's intent for her characters are (of course, she was spewing her own opinions based upon what her ideas of Rowlings' intent---Now you know why I used to belong to that group). Don't get me wrong, it was an interesting discussion group, but they over-analyzed the motives of some characters--I mean really overanalyzed them to the point that if Rowling had written "Dumbledore and McGonagall are engaged to be married", these people would be questioning if Dumbledore and McGonagall are engaged to be enaged to be married and what exactly does "married" mean in the wizarding world.

They used to do some other annoying stuff too....

I used to be part of a discussion forum as well, until it turned too critical of everything that you would write. The admins over there are very power hungry and will ban you if you step one toe out of line. This is the reason why I probably analyzed things for myself instead and just read some spoilers from Rowling's site.

Overall, I liked the book very much. Let's just say I am a softy and I just cried for the longest time ever, and I even cried when I fell asleep. So, for those who've read it, any info on who this R.A.B person is. I already analyzed to, too, but I just want to see what you're opinion on it is. ^_^

        Re: Harry Potter! YAY!

I liked the book too---about as good as PoA, imo. I liked the way Rowling psychoanalyzed Voldemort. I was rather surprized that she used the word "slut" in the book too (hmmm....don't know if that word is included in the ADBB language filter, if it is then I'll direct you to the page the word is used).

Anyhow, I'm sure this book has turned the HP fanfic world upside down, especially the various "shipper" fanfics---lol.

It makes me want to have the 7th book, now, now, now now!

I have an idea of who RAB is----Regulus Black, Sirius's younger brother who joined the DEs early then tried to get out and was killed by Voldemort (or by Voldemort's command).

And that is who I think it is, too. The only other person with the Initials R.A.B is Rudolf Brand, who is " Captain of the Heidelberg Harriers who, at the end of a famous match with the Holyhead Harpies, proposed marriage to the Harpies' team captain, Gwendolyn Morgan; she whacked him over the head with her broom (QA)." (HP-Lexicon) But, it can't be him because in the 5th book, we read that they found a locket in which they couldn't open in the Grimmauld Place, also, that Regulas is already dead, too, and could have left it there.

I believe that Harry is a Horcruxes, too, even if Dumbledore did say that he wasn;t. I mean, Voldemort couldhave transferred it through him when he was trying to kill Harry, so this would result in both of their deaths. "Either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives." But, we will never know that until the 7th book comes out, we can always speculate, which is fun.

            Hi
I'm not entirely sure about this but I've been told that there are two "crucial" sentences left out of the UK edition that are in the U.S editition. Does anyone know what they are??

Really? I didn't know about that. I'll have to *gulp* venture back into the HP group I left to see what they've heard.

I do know that the US version of PS included a description of Dean Thomas that the UK version didn't.

Will be back (if I can remember my password to the HP Discussion Group That Must Not Be Named)

                Re: Harry Potter! YAY!

How can we be sure that Sirius's brother is dead though? I think Sirius was only speculating.
"From what I found out after he died, he [Regulus] got in so far, then panicked about what he was being asked to do, and tried to back out. Well, you don't just hand in your resignation to Voldemort. It's a lifetime of service or death" (OP6).
That's a great site Lena...I think I'm going to go snoop around some more! Lol.

Hmm....I'm looking through the "HP Discussion That Must Not Be Named" right now. No mention of any omitted lines in the UK version.

Oh dear...Looks like there's some thoughts that Snape aided Dumbledore in an assisted suicide. Some grumbling that Rowling wrote the book to please "certain segments of HP fandom". The Harry-Hermione 'shippers' are complaining that Hermione picked the wrong guy. oh dear oh dear oh dear....

Boy...they really read into the story a bit far don't they?

I just had another thought. What's Mr.Borgin of Borgin and Burkes full name? Also, we know Borgin but who's Burkes?

ets~at the 12 Grimmauld Place there was "a locket that no one could open"

Yes they do overanalyze it, bless their little pointy heads. Some of them have just accepted that Sirius is truly dead and never to return--a few were holding out that Sirius wasn't really dead, but Dumbledore had him whisked away as part of a secret plot (which was to be revealed in this book). I guess it will take them yet another book to believe Dumbledore's fate---although those lovely conspiracy theorists are already typing that D. is still alive.

I'll have to look that Borgin and Burkes thing too because I thought of that also. OR RAB can be 2 or 3 people---the initial of their first or last names...

Oh how weird megs!!! I was wondering if it was more than one person too! My husband just finished reading it so now we're talking about it. I'm so glad he finished I was about to burst at the seams!

I was kinda hoping Sirius wasn't really gone since he fell behind that curtain. I can still hope though! O.k...so when does the next book come out???? Lol. I hope there's more than one, as Harry gets older I can visualize so many good books out there to be written by J.K. I don't think I could get tired of this series at all.

                          Re: Harry Potter! YAY!

I just finished it this morning. I was very sad about the loss.

And I just kept holding out hope for Snape, that Dumbledore knew something earth shattering about him and that was why he trusted him.

I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, Draco will come around in the next book? He had the chance to be pure evil, but didn't/couldn't.

I guess we'll hafta wait another couple of years to know the outcome of it all.

I wonder if Lena wouldn't mind adjusting the thread title (if possible) that way we can talk further about it without tipping anyone off accidentally. Or maybe start a new thread? I'd hate to ruin it for anyone and I feel I've said too much here and don't want anyone mad at me.

                            *spoiler warning!*

I was soooo surprised with Draco. I thought for sure he wouldn't hesitate. Snape was under that "Unbreakable Vow" thing. I bet he never even knew what Draco was actually supposed to do. O.k...I'm re-reading this one starting today! Lol.
