Re: My husband thinks I'm having a cyber affair

So I was in Niagara Falls last weekend and we stayed at a Sheraton Hotel. My husband goes to the bathroom...I hear him flush....then he yells out: "Come see this!!!!!". So I run in the bathroom and as the toilet is flushing, the seat comes down....on its own! My husband said: We gotta get one of these toilets.

So I forgot to look at it carefully while I was there. Now I'm wondering does it plug in? How does it get the power to move the seat down? It could also have something to do with the water level as it's flushing I guess. Has anyone ever seen one of these miracle toilets before?

      Here you go!

Is he seriously worryed about you having a cyber affair? A self closing toilet seat may in itself may make up for your Atkins obsession!

I may be in the minority, but I like to have toilet lids closed when they're not in use. Having the lid up is as annoying as having the seat up. This way either sex needs to lift before and close after.... and there's never a wet tush or a wet seat.

Not to mention much safer when the kids were tiny. That's when I started it.

As for toilet paper... I usually prefer it over, but when the kids were big enough to play with it I came to have a deep appreciation for having it roll under!

Thanks for the link but it doesn't show how it works. It looks like you buy the seat only. So how does it work?

Wannabethintoo, they do sell these toilet seats at Home depot. It might not be as advanced as the one they had but the one I got goes down really fast until it reaches half way and then slowly comes down from there. There are no batteries and it doesnt plug in. it feels like its pressurized hydraulics. (sp?) It doesn't slam down so thats good. Its not that expensive either.

But does it do it automatically? or do you have to touch it to get it started speedy?

It does it automatically when you flush somehow. I don't know how it works but it does! lol Maybe the noise from the flush, But I don't touch it.

Yeah, since it's only the seat and not the whole toilet then how does it work? Does something get attached to the bowl so it knows when flushing occurs? I guess I'll have to check out home depot. I love that place.

Like I said, I'm not sure how it works. You just put it on like a normal seat and it does it's thing. It's plastic, it's not a "luxery" toilet seat by any means but its nice. I got it for my boyfriend as a joke. But.....then realized how nice it was to not have to follow behind him everytime he came out of the bathroom so our cats don't drown trying to get a drink! lol
