Just finished The Crown Rose by Fiona Avery about Isabelle of France (sister to King Louis IX, Robert and Charles). About 13th Century France. Historical basis with a spiritual/fantasy (supernatural) touch. Pretty neat!

I'm reading "Metro Girl" right now. It's pretty good so far. I mean, it's light reading and it's in the same Plum-style with the witty dialogue and the outlandish plot. But I'm enjoying it (after I cried over Harry Potter's last book, I need something like this).

I'm on my library's waiting list for the newest Plum book "Eleven on Top".

I have a few cookbooks, I'm thumbing though too.

I like John Grisham too. I finished reading the new Harry Potter, then I read Sullivan's Island by Dorothea Benton Frank, now I am going to read The Long Walk by Stephen King (written as Richard Bachman).

I like Patricia Cornwell too, but I have to be in that kind of mood. I love Nora Roberts. I just got finished with Nicolas Sparks "The Guardian". I like him too. I don't feel like I have enough time to read though because I spend tooooo much time reading this board!!!!!!! LOL.

                    MotherofGizmo,

I had never heard of this Stephen King book either, and I have not only read all his books, I've read all his wife's books too! It was published under his psydo Richard Bachman in 1996, I bought it in paperback at Border's Books. Here is what it says on the first page:

Every year, on the first day of May, one hundred teenage boys meet for an event known thoughout the country as "The Long Walk" Among this years chosen crop is a sixteen-year-old Ray Garraty. He knows the rules; that warnings are issued if you fall under speed, stumble, sit down. That after three warnings...you get your ticket. And what happens then serves as a chilling reminder that there can be only one winner in the Walk - the one that survives.....

                    Wooooooh! Scary!

Cool. Thanks. I can't say I've read every book, but I've read most of them. I didn't know his wife was a writer! What's here name/pen name?

I like the Dark Tower series ( I think I'm remembering the name correctly its been a long long time since I read those) Gosh, now I want to dig those up and read them again!

wow.....my status of being an "outsider" in the reading group just got bumped!
I thought my reading about the evils of US blackmarket was a bit intense.... how can it compete?

Stephen Kings wife is Tabitha King, she is right next to Stephen King in the library. If you like his books, you will like her's.
