Coop! I noticed on your fur person she has one toe on each foot that is white and the rest are black! That's cool! Is that common? We had a doberman growing up and all of her nails were black. I miss her soooo much. Her name was Camelot's Contessa. We just called her Tessa. I wish my scanner still worked, she was a gorgeous and faithful friend. Your Pitbull is beautiful coop! I love her coloring! Heck...all of the babies in this thread are beautiful! I love these kinds of posts.

Bugaboo, love your kitty carrier! I have a pure white cat but she's not very photogenic. Maybe I can get her to pose for a pic later.

I really like the looks of pit bulls. I just wish they didn't have such a negative reputation. I use to have a Chow Chow and their reps aren't so good either.

Nursey, I've never seen a dog stay covered up in a blanket like that. What did you do to her or him? Is JuJu a boy or girl? Did I get the name right?

Cajun, how big are those Akitas of yours? They look huge. I can see that one of them is a male. Do you breed them?

In the middle of the night, a few weeks ago, upon awakening, I looked around and didn't see our fur person (figured she was in another room). When I came back, I noticed the blanket DH had over him, was rising upwards. All of a sudden the blanket slid down to reveal our pooch. Talk about a funny sight!!

*sigh* This is Moose. We got her two days after we gt to CO.. we got here on a Thursday afternoon and got her on a Saturday afternoon. She's supposedly 8weeks old but I think she's younger than that.. she weighed in at 20lbs this morning! YIKES! She's a lab/newf mix.. but I think there may be some german shepherd in there since she has brownish markings.

I'll post Taz and Jack pictures later when I get the decent computer up and running and we have DSL.


and here's my favorite picture.. she's trying to decide if she wants to chew on my shoe, the hose, Taz or Jack.

I can not ever imagine owning another type of dog ..bullies are "a lot of dog" sweet...loveing and very easy to get them to understand what you want. My dog is a girl Pia her name is JuJube ...she was a rescue bully from the PITBULL PROJECT in Seattle....

she came into our lives at a severe breaking point ...and seemed to be the glue that kept things together!!! I love this silly beast .....

she covers herself like that ...all the time even in 100 degrees I swear!

She has a tire on a spring pole where she swings from in the back yard for exercise ....and my neighbor called the humane society to tell them I was training a fighting dog ! yeah that sounds like me!

we are going to adopt another bully now that our fence is done...not to keep my dogs in but to protect them ...I was attacked by a shepard while I had JuJu on a leash in my own yard..she protected me while the owner a huge guy stood there with his mouth open...never once did JuJu make contact with anyone but she kept the dog from getting me! such a good baby !!! I had to scream at the guy to "get your dog before it bites me!"....no matter what if the police had come even with my dog on a leash and another dog coming after me in my yard ...my bully would have been in trouble...

Origam Moose is adorable! When i was looking for a pup last year i considered a full Newf pup. My hubby said it probably wasn't a good idea to get a dog that wouldn't fit in my car, i had a mini cooper at the time LOL. They're huge but beatiful (and apparently very loyal). I ended up choosing a border collie and i'm so glad i did he has the most awesome personalilty, he even smiles. i swear sometimes he's part human, and he doesn't have that high strung hyper border personality thankfully, :

I believe all but the ginnie springs folder has pics.......she's oh so cute!!

She's 8 mos old and was 28# last trip to the vet a few weeks ago. No one can decide whether she's gonna get any bigger. She also has addison's disease, so she gets even MORE spoiled.

In regards to the dog stayin undercovers thing.. alot of dogs I know will stay covered up. Taz covers himself up and so does Molly, but they are both very short haired dogs. Lots of little dogs I know cover themselves up.

Jack will stay covered up is we put something on him.. but Moose, she just tries to eat the covers.

Thunder weighed 130lbs when I took him for his yearly this past spring. He's at the top end of the size scale for Akitas. Camey needs to be on Atkins (LOL!), as she is overweight at 110lbs, but she'll be 11 in October, so I'm not gonna push her to diet.

Thunder was my first show dog, but he ended up with too many faults to finish his Championship, so we stopped showing years ago, and he was neutered.

I have loads of friends in the Akita world, and have thought of breeding at some point, but..... it's getting harder and harder to own certain breeds due to breed specific legislations running amuck, and homeowners insurance companies not wanting to give you insurance if you own certain breeds. And Akitas are A LOT of dog and NOT for the average dog person, so many of them end up neglected, abused and abandoned. It's really hard for responsible breeders to find responsible, loving, lifetime homes for their puppies........ so with all of that, I don't know if I'll ever breed or not. There's a lot of responsibility involved in bringing little furry lives into the world.
