This happened in the town where I live. The guy that got robbed has a little public access show where he tries to sell anything and everything that no one else wants. He basically buys junk that the major chain stores can't send back for repairs or just want to make few bucks back instead of just dumping it.
The show is so bad that it is good because as I said it is public access so anything can go wrong and usually does. A lot of times they will just sit something up on the table and say, we don't have a clue what this is but someone make a bid. Many times people will call in with stupid requests to have the host measure it while he is on line and he will try to take a tape measure and do the talking and measuring while selling.
It gets totally nuts. He really does have a big following just because it is so silly, but anyway he did get robbed while on the air....
