the one that's in this classroom that keeps buzzing in my ear ... tried to fly up my nose, and I can't seem to smash the critter....
that ONE fly is driving me crazy... as I sit here half way trying to do WORK... and half way cruising the boards...

LOL, working hard huh?
I've gotten pretty good at catching them, I let them get up on the glass at the window and then plop a glass or cup over them, slide a sheet of paper btwn the window and the glass and transport their little butts outside!

I detest flies and the coolest thing I ever saw was a tennis racket looking thing that zaps bugs. You only have to touch the fly and *zwaaap* puff of smoke and it's dead as disco. We had one at the truck stop I worked at (fuel desk...not restaurant...lol) and I took great pleasure in zapping anything in the insect family. I also enjoyed watching every single mechanic touch the metal part because "How bad could it hurt?" Every single one. They were like lemmings. LOL Bugaboo, I bought one of those for John about 2 years ago. I wish you could have seen him, he went skipping thru the front yard, swinging that thing all over the place trying to swat any bug he could find...I'm sure the neighbors were convinced on that day that he is some kind of nutcase!

We have one of these, and I hate it. My husband loves it though. Him and his friend went outside one night, and hung out by the back porch light, zapping bugs with this dumb thing for the fun of it! The very first time he used it, there was a spider in the shower. He zapped the thing, and I saw the flash all the way in the bedroom. It was like a lightning bolt. I thought my husband had been electrocuted.detest flies and the coolest thing I ever saw was a tennis racket looking thing that zaps bugs.
We had a friend that thought he was macho, and shocked himself with it too. He didn't feel like such a tough guy anymore.Comment

I read about this on another board, and though I don't know HOW it works, many people swear that it does. They said you can put plastic baggies full of water around the doors and windows of your house/office/ whatever, and it will keep the flies out. The two most popular theories are (1) something about the light reflecting off the water repels the flies, and, my favorite, (2) flies see multiple images so when they see themselves reflected in the water, they think something much bigger is coming after them, and they vamoose.
Anybody else heard this? I haven't tried it myself.

Oh my word....I'm sorry but I'm doubled up with laughter here. I'm glad he wasn't hurt...but oh my gosh I'm sorry...that was hilarious.and I saw the flash all the way in the bedroom.
