    Assault Update...

    Well, the detective & I chatted it up for a few yesterday.

    They served a search warrant on the car. *gasp* *shock* The weapon wasn't found. *gasp* *shock*

    The guy isn't talking. In the detective's words, he "lawyered up". They're investigating him & his associations to see if they can identify who the passenger was. If/when they do, we'll have to go in and look at another photo line-up.

    It's nice to know the detective is working on it and taking it seriously - unlike that schmuck cop from that night.

    Dh is recovering nicely. I took his stitches out for him the night before we left for Wefest. The stubborn *** wouldn't go in to let a doctor remove them. LOL I knew that was coming. He's got quite a dent on the top of his head, but all will be fine. Thank God.

    I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks for the thoughts & prayers.

    I didn't comment on the your other post because It reminded me so much of one of my misadventures from the past. I do have a bit of advice that you and your friend might want to think about. Concealed Carry Permit! I can almost guarantee that your problem would not have occured if you had a permit..For some reason it calms people down and they usually walk away from anything that might jepordize their permits..In other words if it is not a matter of life or death you just walk away. Think about it

      Brook.. I am just now seeing this post! I am glad your DH is doing better and I hope that they catch those guys and justice is done.. or whatever passes for justice anymore.

        I didn't comment on your previous post either, but I'm happy you and DH are recovering from that incident. And WOOHOOO! for the detective working to find those people.

              I'm happy that your husband is alright and he didn't sustain more serious injuries. But, I think that when in that kind of situation, it's just best to leave if you can. I would try to avoid confrontations if at all possible. You never know what people will do nowadays. It's a frightening world out there sometimes.

              Sorry you got a "schmuck" cop the other time. I guess there are duds in every profession.

                Yep. But when you get hit in the head with a giant tool, the whole option to leave is sorta blown right there - especially if you're trying to protect someone else from getting hit too. Unfortunately, this guy never paused and said, "So, would you like to stop now?" LOL We did nothing to invite this or bring this on. Had there been some type of altercation eariler, or some testosterone injected BS, we might be dealing with something different - but that just isn't how it went down.

                We *did* try to avoid the confrontation, but when you're being approached by some psycho who has no intention of warning you what he's going to do, let alone giving you an out - planning and thinking about it doesn't do squat. It becomes about survival REAL quick.

                I hope to God no one else ever has to find that out - unfortunately, that just ain't gonna happen
