RICHMOND, Virginia (AP) -- A rush to purchase $50 used laptops turned into a violent stampede Tuesday, with people getting thrown to the pavement, beaten with a folding chair and nearly driven over. One woman went so far to wet herself rather than surrender her place in line.

"This is total, total chaos," said Latoya Jones, 19, who lost one of her flip-flops in the ordeal and later limped around on the sizzling blacktop with one foot bare.

and knowing the way schools pay about 10 times too much for every single thing they buy... (a $50 bookcase is $350 if a school buys it).... these things probably weren't much to write home about anyway.......

ebay has a slew of little 3.2 gig HD ones for under $100.....

I'm not saying it probably wasn't a good deal... just that I wouldn't go through that mess for it...

You put a turd into a squre plastic case and put a "apple" on it...still doesn't justify paying 50 bucks for it!

LOL... and with my luck it'd be those bright colored clamshell ones like in Legally Blonde.... and I'd end up with purple..
