I swear they are!!
*rant alert! rant alert!*
Now, seriously, we love tourists, god bless them, and god bless their money, and I do truly enjoy talking to people who are visiting, and I mean that sincerely. It's fun helping them learn how to count out our money and giving them directions around the city...they're always so grateful!
But when I'm out on the scooter, I swear, there's a whole lot of stupid people out there and they all walk in front of me. I know they're tourists because 75% of them have the 'FREE MAP' of Victoria clutched in their hands.
Surely other cities, and other countries have Walk/Don't Walk signs on their street corners! Surely other cities have traffic that pedestrians need to look out for...right?
So many times there have been bunches of people walking across the street....middle of the street mind you, not near the crosswalk, (or in an intersection when it's clear the light is about to change) and they don't even acknowledge that a car is coming.
People with strollers lurching across when the light has changed!!
It's not so much that I'm worried about hitting them...I'm worried about all the cars behind me hitting *me* because I've had to slam on my brakes.
Or another thing I see done a lot is that they step out in the street so they can be far enough back to take a picture...good golly....!!
And don't even get me started on the people who rent scooters...omg.
I know there's a lot to see in this city and it's really distracting, but geez louise...pack your common sense with you when you go on holiday, you know?!!
All right, I'm done now.
I hope that when I get the chance to travel I am more careful than some of the people I see here....and I hope all of you are as well.
