  • My new doggie-nephew

I posted this in my journal but not many folks go there, I'm so excited, my sister adopted a doggie (2 days away from the gas chamber!) his name is Harry, and I think he and Gizzie will get along just fine! My nephew hasn't stopped smiling yet!

Awwww...He looks like Benji! What a sweet story. I'm a little mooshy gooshy right now, but I got a little teary eyed when I saw the big grin on your nephews face. How sweet.

What an adorable dog! Bless your nephew and his mom for adopting a dog from the shelter and saving his life. Way to many are dying every day because of people's lack of responsibility. So many dogs are turned over to the shelters because they grow out of the "cute" puppy stage. And I won't even start about the people who fail to neuter their pets and bring unwanted litters into the world. Your nephew will have a loving friend and companion for many years to come. A boy and his dog have a special bond.

It brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat everytime I think about all those doggies in the shelters. If I could I'd adopt every single one of them! My sister is just flabberghasted that they would "off" such a wonderful companion. She says this little dog is the sweetest thing, he keeps following them all around the house and won't let them leave the room without him! Poor thing, I think he has seperation anxiety!

Yeah, it's too bad that more people don't spay and neuter their animals or take their responsibility more seriously. Then there wouldn't be so many animals in shelters waiting to be "offed".

He's adoroable! I think he looks like benji too! So nice that he was a 'saved pup'. we have a friend who's an animal control officer, so i know how many don't make it. it's amazing how many of them are found on the streets untagged or not microchipped (it only costs $10 for a tag, $50 for a microchip, a very small price).

My uncle was in animal control with the San Diego police department for many years and he can really go off on a tanget about how some people treat their animals. He was super tough on people and didn't take any b.s! He treats his (strictly indoor) cat like a little king...it's hilarious. I thought we spoiled our cats but his cat has his own recliner! He's a tough old navy guy but is moosh when it comes to his cat.

That's so great that your sister took in that dog. I can't believe someone wouldn't want it...it looks like such a sweetie baby!!!! I know the next time we get an animal we're going to the shelter. Our first cat was a stray teeny tiny kitten now she's the little princess of the home! You can't spoil your kids but you can spoil your pets!
