I'm not trying to be cavalier about the very real and serious issue of gambling addiction.

I just hope that it is evident to everyone that there will be more discussions at that forum dealing with everything from home organization to decorating, to gardening, to automotive repair, and that poker was placed there as an example of what is to come, as a 'how-to'. It isn't a gambling forum by any means.

I take it these threads were moved from the poker forum? took me a while to figure out what you were taking about.

Was moving them to chit chat really necessary? they should have been left where they were relevan IMO.

I don't know that we even NEED a "lessons" forum at all. I'm still getting over having a weight watchers forum, a south beach forum, etc.

But if we DO need a lessons forum, why poker to start with? That doesn't give ANYONE a taste of "what is to come", if "what is to come" is about auto repair and bulb-planting.

And I agree about the gambling addiction issue.

I'm becoming just a tad concerned about what is going on around here. Moving threads from forums to the chit-chat area, setting up poker lessons, having weight-watchers discussions, and asking people to pay for boot camp.

I have been a mod before on this board, and I do not ever recall these types of decisions being made without checking the pulses of the other members.
