Aww, I love it when people resurrect old threads like these!

I met my boyfriend Mark online (see a pattern here?) two summers ago. We talked all through the summer, and when I returned to school, he flew up to Virginia to meet me from Florida. I was just getting out of a three year relationship, and so I had some transition problems, but we have been together ever since we met! We have so many weird things in common: love to fly, economics majors, both learning Arabic, and have a love affair with 'Arrested Development.'

I met my hunny bunny in person, but as a result of of a website. I bought a pickup truck about three years ago because I wanted to try new things and wanted to meet people who were into off-roading, making modifications to their truck, basically make new friends. I found a great website with articles, forums, and state chapters. I went to the spring truck show at Old Bridge Raceway in New Jersey and I met Mike. We chatted, he complimented me and i thought he was cute, but that was it. My heart was recovering and I wasn't interested in "meeting" anyone. About a month later, a bunch of people were getting together to play hockey and I decided to drop by and we ran into each other again. Finally, on Memorial Day weekend, we were both at a picnic the NJ chapter has and hit it off. He was heading down to Atlantic City that evening to gamble a little and I didn't have any plans, so we drove down (about 50 miles down shore) and didn't part until midnight the next day(night). So our first "date" was about 36 hours long. We lived about 50 miles away from each other, split by New York City, so the next weekend I drove to him, the week after that he drove to me. We were on the phone everyday. About a month later we decided to be "boyfriend and girlfriend" lol. We've been together ever since. We're moving in together next week, and June 20th will be two years we've been together.

I was sick with this awful head cold but my friend pulled out every "you owe me one"/"we are supposed to be friends" excuse she could think of to drag me on an impromptu double date. She had been wanting to see this guy socially for a while but they had been just friends. I finally conceded defeat and put on something barely more presentable than the bath robe I had been wearing just as they showed up at the door. He must have been blind or desperate because he just kept showing up for more dates after that! We dated for two years and have been married for over six years. My friend and her date never really hit it off on a romantic level but, hey, I got a husband and two beautiful sons out of it!

I met my husband on a blind date. We went miniature golfing and to the movie Flatliners. Yup that was a long time ago...just about 16 years. We were inseperable after that. Not too romantic, but he did let me win the golf game. Almost 15 years for us. We have two beautiful sons and are in the process of adopting a beautiful seven year old girl! Life is good!

Met my g/f of 11 years at college when I was training to be a Missionary Priest. had to decide on one or the other, so I chose her!
Just split last year, still very good friends much to the annoyance of everyone LOL.
Met me beautiful new g/f online in June, she's been chasing me for a while and I finally gave in LOL and the second I met her I there were sparks.

I met my husband of 3 years online.

When I was still truck driving, I wasn't around much and would go onto a local singles site to go on dates, since the guys wouldn't require much notice, just LET'S GO OUT! lol. Got alot of movies and nice dinners, and company.

Anyhows...

I was browsing through the profiles one day and noticed I had a message. I looked at his picture and was like, WOWZZERS! This guy is way too good looking to be interested in plump lil ol' me. And his profile made a me a lil nervous because he was tattooed and had peircings.

But.. I thought i'll just send him a lil 'smiley' to show i got his message and will chat.. so we chatted and chatted and finally he asked for a date.

Our first date was aweful! We went to this Japanese resteraunt that was supposed to be 'all you can eat' but they wouldn't put any food out! So we sat and just stared off into space without talking. Finally we left and walked together.. He asked me if I wanted to go to his place (we women always fall for that line) but I thought I'd hang out so we went to his house and he was a total gentleman.

BTW if I hadn't mentioned it, He was even HOTTER in person and (drool) I totally figured he was WAY WAY WAY outta my league.

So I went home at the end of the extremely platonic evening, never expecting to hear form him again.

The next day he called me and asked how long I was in town before going back on the road. I happen to have 2 weeks off (took off stress time, due to an accident) so he said he would love to spend that 2 weeks with me,

Now before your shake your head at what I am going to tell you next... I was single.. unencombered.. adventrous and insane.

I moved in with him.. (hides her head)

At the end of the two totally amazing weeks he asked me to marry him and I said yes.

I have had the honour of picking up his dirty knickers, cleaning his home and making his food for 3 years and I'm still TOTALLY IN LOVE.

Hope you all don't think I'm crazy..

I'm loving reading all your stories - they're so nice!

I met my husband through a friend in work, I used to give her a lift home to her boyfriends house, but what I didn't realise is that her boyfriends brother would wait to see me drive past each evening, I think he was more interested in my mums car (a little sporty XR2i ford fiesta - they were very trendy in the early 90's!! lol), but I agreed to meet him on a blind date and never looked back - that was 15 years ago!!!

I met my BF online. On yahoo personals to be exact. He sent me a note first. After looking at his profile, I had decided that eventhough he was WAY too young for me (hes 21, I was going to be 30), I figured, ehhh to heck with it, and messaged him back. we talked for a few days and he was quick to ask me out. I agreed (Im usually VERY slow about getting ot know someone before we go out) and we made a date for a weeknight. He was early and not at our meetingp lace (he took a wrong turn lol) but I found him and we went bowling. Our first date was 6 hours long as we were both enjoying ourselves and spent hours talking. On our third date, we went on a picnic (I cooked) and made sure he didnt have any food allergies (only chicken cooked on the bone) So I made lettuce wraps with boneless skinless chicken breasts. He ended up having an allergic reaction. It was funny in retrospect. I got him loaded up on Benadryl and he was loopy. It was quite cute as in his 'altered' state, he looked at me and said 'it might be too soon but I think Im falling in love with you', after which he promptly passed out on my arm. LOL we are very different personality wise and it works for us so far.
