  • 2005 Fall TV Season

For the new shows, I've perused the tv guide and I'm thinking that "Supernatural" on the WB looks pretty good. I'll give "Bones" a try because I like David Boreanaz, but the reviews look bleak for that show.

Ya know...out of the blue we got an Entertainment Weekly subscription from somewhere. I have no idea where...I think because we renewed our Wired script...anyway...I saw the Supernatural one and I think I might actually watch it. I rarely make time for particular shows...just flip channels and watch whatever looks good...but I might have to give this one a shot. If I remember when and where it's on that is! Lol!

      Re: 2005 Fall TV Season

My husband and I were just talking about the new line up for this season and I agree with you. The two shows that I thought I may want to watch were Bones and Supernatural. Then later this month ABCs Invasion. The only problem is that I have a 4 year old and normally around 8-9pm, I'm trying to get her into bed. I missed all of the shows last season/year. I think I watched Headlines News the most.

But, we have a DVR, so I plan on taping the shows (if I remember) and maybe watching them later on that night or the next day.

Season premiere of House is tomorrow, and I am ECSTATIC. Its my favourite show.

I'm also pretty hooked on The 4400s.

Bren, doesn't Survivor usually premiere after the Super Bowl?

The reviews for Supernatural seem good so far because the episodes are described as mini-horror movies. lol. I hope the WB doesn't screw this show up.

Well now. Bones and Supernatural premiered last night. I had to tape both shows because I'm taking a night class. Anyhow, Bones: not bad. I thought it was a tad bit too slow but it's the premiere and they're doing the character development. So hopefully, the show will improve.

Supernatural: I thought it was great. The episode did a reasonably well job of introducing the characters and did a good job with the urban legend/ghost story thing.

I had to tape Supernatural too. My reasoning was a bit different though ... it seems that I have a very active imagination and decided that it would be best to watch it while it was daylight. I used to love horror movies at night, now it seems that I still like scary movies, but I would rather not watch them at night.

I think I'll like the show. I may just have to tape them in order to watch the next morning. For anyone who missed it and wants to watch it, I think it's also playing on Thursday at 9pm.

Debbie I know what you mean!

I can't watch The Exorcist because that movie is too disturbing to me. My sister and I watched it once when we were teenagers and it was on tv. We couldn't sleep that night and we had to sleep in each other's room because it was too disturbing. Yeah, the special effects were outdated by then, but the concept of the movie was troubling.

Then there was an episode of "X-Files" that I can't watch. I was working the night shift and did a double shift so I was exhausted. Silly me, when I got home what did I do? I watched that episode I taped. It was about a Rumanian woman with a son and there are a bunch of unexplained murders. In the end, Mulder finds out that the son was a twin and the twin died at birth, but the Mother didn't do some kind of folk ritual and the dead twin was now a demon. It doesn't sound too scary, but I think the combination of being exhausted and watching that scared the bejeebers out of me. I couldn't fall asleep!

But, I enjoyed "Supernatural". I hope they keep up with the creature of the week thing.

Ack! I forgot Supernatural was on. Oh well...t.v always repeats things. Except hilarious commercials. You see the lame-o ones over and over but the super funny ones they only seem to play once or twice. What's the deal with that?

Okay, I watched Bones again last night and the show seems better (or else, it's beginning to grow on me). I'm still giving a hearty thumbs up to Supernatural. Episode 2 was as good if not better, imo.
