Can't afford my car anymore...

I bought a 2004 neon after my son was born b/c we needed a car to put a car seat in...well, I pay out 600 dollars a month between the payment and insurance...I cannot afford this anymore..I want to move out of my mother-in-laws house and live like a normal married couple lives, but I can't save w/ this damn car!! Has anyone heard of a way to get out? I don't want the car anymore, but I don't want the repo on my credit...what's a broke girl to do??

(((jsj))) My parents had a Ford when my father was sick with cancer. He didn't do the "death" part of the contract so when he died my mom couldn't afford the payments anymore so she called Ford to work out an agreement. What they did was auction off the car and then she had to pay out the difference in monthy installments. However, her credit was toast. Have you called and asked about a refinance? There is a possiblity the finance company can work with you on something, it might be worth calling about. (((hugs)))

could you maybe get a cheaper used car?

(I still have an 81 toyota corolla that I drive a LOT... a 91 Explorer, and an 89 Ford F 150)... and I think each of them is about as dependable as my 2004 Toyota Tacoma..

Check out eloan to refinace. We purchased a 4 Runner in 2000 and because we had limited credit due to our ages(21 & 22) our interest rate was 12% we refinaced about two years later and got it down to 6%.
