  • Zippers.

Somebody tell me why a person can wear a pair of jeans or pants for a few months, and all of a sudden the zipper will decide it doesn't want to stay up.
    Why? And why me?

A friend is moving back to town and we were out shopping for furniture for her. We went to this local place that has these hilarious commercials on tv...the ownder dresses like Pirates of the Carribean, or Batman or whatever and says in this very deadpan way "I won't be undersold!!!" . You know the type, every city has a 'Crazy Larry' type of guy.

Anyway, we go to that store and she finds a lovely couch and decides to buy it, and this guy is the guy who sells it to us! Very nice man, soft spoken in person, not pushy at all (he is involved in local charity work as well..just a great guy all around, we were actually quite tickled to meet him)...and as we finish the sale and are walking away, I realize my fly has been gaping wide open for who knows how long?

    Aw geez...that's so nice.....
Up until then I don't recall having trouble with it. Maybe my jeans really liked that guy...lmaoooo

Stupid zippers...I have a pair of second hand brown cords that do this too.

So I've taken some cord, and made little loops to put around the buttons when I zip up, so that should fix it... I feel like Jethro.....but why does this happen??!!

Wish I had an answer, but I'm stumped, too. Could it be something to do with you having lost weight, and they are loose?
Yes, Mr. Dodd is a hoot. My son used to love mimicing the commercials. We saw him driving his own delivery/store truck to Vancouver once, while we were waiting to get on the ferry.

More importantly, did you get a discount?

I think pants do this because they are so loose that the top pushes down on the bottom where a tummy pooch used to be. Whereas there was the pooch holding the zipper taut, now there is nothing left and so the zipper is forced downwards.

This happens to my thin son alllllll the time.

OH right, you'd know who Gordie is! lol
Did you get to see his Pirates of the Caribbean one? Frickin' hilarious...lol

And thanks to you and Cleo...but I don't think it's because my pants are too loose. They both fit really nicely right now and well..hmm...come to think of it, when they were tighter they didn't do this...so maybe you are right...but it doesn't sound logical to me.
        Ah well.
