  • What are you thankful for?

So, Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend.....what are we all thankful for? Doesn't matter if you aren't Canadian...you can still answer!

I am thankful for the 13 years I had with my sweet Moochiecat, and even though her passing was, and still continues to be difficult, I'm thankful that I was able to share this hard time with my boyfriend. He loved her as much as I did and through all of this I've seen a side of him that amazes me. His caring and compassion is huge...and I'm so thankful that we are together.

I'm thankful for the friends and family we have around us, who responded with love and kind thoughts during the last month. I hope they know how much they mean to us.

It's so easy to look around and see the things in your life that are lacking, but when you open your eyes and your heart, there is so much that is good...I hope the same for all of you.

    I'm thankful for...well...everything!

Happy Thanksgiving moochie and my Canadian friends. Does your Thanksgiving have the same meaning as ours or is there a different tradition behind it?

It's a thanksgiving for the harvest.
In my family it was more a reason to get together and eat until our pants burst open...and then have pumpkin pie...lol

That's cool moochie! Thanks for sharing that.

So basically...it's the same in both countries! lol! I'm going to give a low carb pumpkin pie a try this year! With my f-i-l being a diabetic and me and my husband on Atkins I think it will be a big hit!

Yep it's the same! LMAO!!! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful to have found a place that is so supportive, and even if you screw up and disappear for a while, they'll still be here, and won't give you a hard time about screwing up.

I'm thankful that I have a loving husband and a little boy who I love more than life itself.

Happy Thanksgiving Moochie, and to all our other Canadian ADBBers!

I'm thankful that my son, though nearly 18, continues to love me and show affection for me, even in front of his girlfriend.

I'm thankful that he still goes to church, and even, last Sunday, sang in the youth choir (newly-formed).

I'm thankful for my husband (and family)'s support for me being in the Reserves, even through I have multiple doubts, especially through all this time of recovery from injuries suffered.

I'm thankful, despite the injuries, that I am able to maintain a fairly decent existence, and get out and exercise some.

I'm thankful for the messages I read here, even if I don't always reply to everything - I do read quite a few of them, and many are quite inspiring.

I'm thankful for employment, a home we can call our own (or at least on lease to the bank ), food on our plates, and most especially, health.

Re: What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for my kids most of all... for the way they are growing physically, mentally, intelliectually, that they have all been complimented for their sensitivity to others recently, and for the interest and adherence they are showing to our faith, even away from home, among others who believe differently.

After that, I am thankful for my friends, who no matter how far we are or how long it has been, we still get each other, and I know I could show up on the porch at one in the morning, and they would make coffee and call in the next day.

I am thankful for my family. We may not always get along, may not always agree, or even like each other sometimes, but at the end of the day, there is love.

Made myself cry. I am also thankful for reality tv, without which, folding laundry would be way more intolerable.

Eclipse (pink floyd from dark side of the moon) sums it up for me:

                  All that you touch
                  All that you see
                  All that you taste
                  All that you feel
                  All that you love
                  All that you hate
                  All you distrust
                  All that you save
                  All that you give
                  All that you deal
                  All that you buy
                  beg, borrow or steal
                  All you create
                  All you destroy
                  All that you do
                  All that you say
                  All that you eat
                  everyone you meet
                  All that you slight
                  everyone you fight
                  All that is now
                  All that is gone
                  All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

Peytonn you are after my very own heart. I love Dark Side of the Moon.

But I am so very thankful for my twin sons. They are 15 and good boys. They still want to be around me and they still hug me and talk to me.

They aren't into the peer pressure in school, but rather comfortable in their own skin.

They are hard workers. And God knows they are the Apple of my Eye.

I am also thankful for my successful career and small farm that I was lucky enough to find and be able to purchase.

And I'm thankful that God looks down upon me with favor allowing me have all these wonderful things that I am thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all my Friends in the Quiet Slumbering Giant to the North.
