  • Why is it that . . .

    Why is it that the first thing a woman does when she brings home a new piece of furniture with a lift-up lid is cover it with a table cloth and about 20 ornaments?

    My mother and my mother in law did it with radiograms, my wife does it with a storage chest we have.

    Everytime I want access I have to srtip the %$^&* lot off!

    Where's the sense in it?

    I agree with you Labrum. My mother is one of those, throw a tablecloth/doily on it, and cover it with trinkets. There is not a bare surface in her house. I HATE clutter! I can't think when I'm in a cluttered room, and I certainly can't relax when I'm surrounded by useless stuff.

    This is a MAJOR pet peeve for me.
