  • Our new kitty!

Some of you may remember when bf and myself unexpectedly lost our little kitty, Moochie, at the end of August.
Out of tragedy can come good things though, and I'm signed up for the next orientation class to volunteer at our local SPCA. Bf and myself have been going in once a week as it is to visit the kitties, and while it can be sad, it's an absolute delight to spend time there. The really rewarding thing is when we go in and the staff is all "Hey! Rupert (or Vader, or Sphinx...) got adopted!!" It's a good feeling to know they are in homes where they are wanted and loved...especially when some of them have gone through some bad times.

And just over two weeks ago, we brought home our new fuzzy friend, Ella! The first week was weird, because although she's a torti like Moochie, she's got a very very different personality. I think we three fit together pretty good though, and each day is some new discovery for all of us.

Here's Ella and myself..and yes, I'm in pyjamas, and it's only like, 3:30 in the afternoon...lol The motto in our place is "Any time is jammie time!" and we had been out scootering earlier and were frozen, so warm jammies were a must when we got home.
She's got two patches of white on her..one is at her neck, as if her tshirt is showing..lol..and you can see one spot on her upper lip...as if she missed licking a drop of cream off.
She has no concept of personal space and will stick her face right in yours..which was a little disconcerting at first because we thought she was going to smack us...but she's just friendly. She's a good girl and we look forward to many years of sharing our time together.

      Moochie,

Aside from loving the cat, I simply cannot get over how young you look in your pictures now! It is amazing!

          Re: Our new kitty!

Ella is just beautiful. We have 5 cats, the one I'm using as my Avatar is Raymond, an Oriental cream tabby who came from the local RSPCA, as did our Siamese, Zafira. The other 3 are Fan Fan, a long hair tortie who's owner got a new job and couldn't be bothered with the cat, so she was going to be put down; Maramduke, a marmalade male (desexed) who was abandoned by his owners who lived over the fence; and our original, Zoe, who is a tortie point Himalayan and is now 20 years old, and very spry too. She still smacks Raymnd and puts him in his place.

Zafira likes to poke into your personal space. She jumps up to you and likes to get her face as close as she can to yours.

They are all lovable and are our family. When my website is working again (i'm migrating it to a new server) I'll post a link so you can all see them.

            Moochie,

Never feel bad about that girl! You look so much younger. I hope that sweetie of yours is a young hottie cause if not, the youngsters will be giving him a run for his money for a beauty like you!
