did you know that rep points recieved are tied to the level of the repper giving them so those of us on level 5 if we repped you twice you would grow a new box but if 33 folk on level 1 rep you you don't get a box. can you change that Kent so every body's repping or spreading the love has equal value?

Let me check... I can eliminate the positve nature of # of posts and # of 365 day periods (years) has on your reputation. From what I can tell, I can't however eliminate the fact that someone who has been repped often gets more powerful rep power. In essence, those that are loved more have more love to give to others. I will be closing the current poll at the beginning of day, and put up a multiple choice poll for possible changes.

It is however good to see that people by a large majority think reputations in some form are needed or wanted at ADBB.

I'm still confused about what "rep" means, I guess. I think these are fun and cute and a nice way to say "thanks, that was a great post - made me laugh, made me think - whatever". I don't know anything about value or points or who's the most popular or whatever. I'm not here to compete with anyone for anything. If rep is the wrong word, can't you just change it to "hug" or "compliment" or "backatya" so we can give each other a little compliment if we especially enjoy their post?

Let me give my love! I am Aphrodite to the rep.

Well, while that didn't come out quite right, rep is a great way to spread joy,m happiness and some goofball to the people at ADBB. If I can't do this, then I have to resort to sending mass pm-mailings, and then that's like WORK.

actually you could Kent all you have to do is increase the number of rep points it takes to get to the next level to say 1000 or even 10,000 and then every ADBBer would be giving the same points out for the first 1/2 of that required number and and then those in the upper 1/2 ould be giving about twice.

And in the FAQ or the board announcements for newbies you could have ADBBADMIN write a topic saying on ADBB the reputation feature is used as a means to give feel good notes to other posters who will know you sent the message and not used to rate the actual post along with instructions on how to rep somebody.

Yes, this is what I want to know. As far as I can tell they don't give you superpowers and they won't make me able to beat MOG at thumb wrestling.

Some people sure are het up about them though, so I'm just wondering what magical powers they hold.
