I really like the idea of the rant thread, so I'm going to start a tradition of The Weekly Rant Thread. I think Monday is a great day to start them but I really didn't have anything worth ranting about until today.
First, my daughter has some sort of a bug and has been very fussy the past few days. Well, last night she didn't sleep well and woke up a few times, so I didn't sleep well either. After all, her day is my day. Then she decided to get up at 5:30AM. Not having enough sleep, not feeling good and needing breakfast sent her over the edge really quick and she got VERY upset. About 1/2 hr later, she vomited (now that a couple hours have passed with no reoccurance, I am thinking she did that by getting so upset that her tummy got upset, too). Anyways, with the possibility that she may be sick enough to have vomited FROM it, I decided to delegate the business appointment I had for this afternoon (which usually can be stressful). I don't usually have these appointments during the day but this one was rare, and had I held it - it would have required promptness in my schedule of things, which would, in turn, require hubby to get out the door early (we share one car and I drive him to work, currently). It worked out that our girl was too sick to for me to keep that appointment as my hubby is not a very organized guy. Being his organizational assistant, I warned him last night that he would need to be to work by 7 today. Well, he's a techy guy with a new gadget - a laptop he got off of ebay that is like the cadillac of computers. He's only had it for a day and he is deeply under it's spell. Thus, I have dubbed it "the other woman with the buns of titanium" - I guess I have enough curves to make up for the both of us
. Anyways, as it turns out, he did not get to work until 9AM - which annoyed me because it would have been that way even if I held the appointment. All because he didn't finish messing around with his computer last night and insisted that he needed it today.
OK, so he's finally dropped off at work, I've farmed out my appointment and on the way home and decided to call my daughter's DR to make an appt to make sure she doesn't have an ear infection. I had remembered that I received a notice that she had been referred to another pediatrician because her old one left the medical group - and I happened to bury the notice somewhere (my mistake). So, I call the Medical Group and find out they still have her medical records there, but there's a snotty type lady I am talking to on the phone. I asked her if she knew who my daughter was supposed to see and she said that they don't keep records of that. Okay - no big deal - I just schedule her with another docter she had seen within that group once before. I figured that since she's almost 2 years old, I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and get her 2 year checkup done also, after all, she's only a couple of weeks shy. I let the lady know my intentions and she proceeded to inform me that it cannot be done until she IS 2. I asked her what difference a couple weeks make. In a snotty tone, she said that I can ask the DR that when I get there this afternoon. I'm sure as long as she doesn't have a fever, there shouldn't be a problem with getting any vaccines she may need ( I have come in 2 weeks shy before and there was no problem....).
Oh well, there it is! Hope your rants are more interesting. I may be making another post this afternoon after the appointment

I pay $70 bucks a month for the privilege of having a phone I can't even use until our billing cycle ends because my freeloading mother-in-law has a big fat mouth????? This is the 3rd time this has happened. I have told my husband for the LAST time to tell her that it is emergencies and free calls only. She is an ungrateful
You do something nice for someone and then they repay you like this.
