I know it is the birthday of the Corp because I have been to two balls in my time, but I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the brave men and women who serve our country each and every day! I thank you for preserving my freedom while giving up your own. I appreciate and thank each one of you.

Semper Fi...always faithful! My husband was in the Marine Corps and I went to two birthday balls as well. Here's a pic from the last one we went to together back in 1993...

We got married a few months after this and in Feb it will be 12 years! He was based in Twentynine Palms and was a com tech on the AAV's. I knew him before he went into the Corps and it really changed his life for the better. He still misses it and talks about it a lot. Those birthday balls were something else though! Lol! At the last one his buddies brought the biggest cooler you could buy packed with beer and they're theme was "We're not leavin' till we're heavin'!" Crazy.

I'm a Comm Tech as well (although we call it Sigs Op in the Cdn Army, Signals Corps). Why did he leave the service? And, I do agree - you made a very lovely couple.

                  Re: Marine Corps Birthday

Thank you everyone! I was almost 19 in that picture and he was 22. Wow...long time ago! cmcole...he left because his required service time had been met. Normally it's a 4 year commitment but his com school was a year long. Also while in bootcamp the 1st Desert Storm started and I think that affected his time spent as well. He loved being in the Marine's and I told him I would support whatever he wanted to do and he decided that he wanted to be home with me and our son. USMC=U suckers miss Christmas or it can = Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. Lol!!!! Basically he decided to come home and be a family man but honestly if he could go back and make the same money he is now he'd sign up without hesitating.
