How hard is it to learn guitar?

i'm a self-taught piano player. Now I want to expand my horizons and learn guitar. I want to take night courses starting in January. I have ZERO knowledge of guitar.

Any takes on this? Is it as difficult as piano?

Back in high school and college, I've had a number of friends who learned to play the guitar just by hanging around people who knew how to play. I'd gather it would be much easier, unless you were playing the guitar classical style, which I've been told is much more difficult.

Guitar is fairly easy to learn. I'm self-schooled in classical. For me, the chords are more difficult! I think it depends on what we're used to. Go for it! I love guitar.

My husband is self-taught/learned from friends, and is more a rythm/chord player (round the campfire kinda stuff). I'm fairly musical, and can play the piano, he tried to teach me the guitar but I just couldn't get my fingers to cooperate! My hands actually cramped. I have large hands for a woman so it's not that..not sure why i couldn't do it?

Once you toughen up the tips of your fingers I don't think its that hard. I had a friend teach me a couple of songs but the first few weeks practicing my finger tips got so sore and tender they felt like they were bleeding!

I just started again about 5 months ago. (This will be my 3rd attempt). I think it's a big mental block for me but I'm determined to do blazing solos and mind twisting Hendrix riffs! My true passion is bluegrass but that takes WAY too much talent so I'll try rock first.
