Hmmmm....I don't see any Toyotas, VWs, Mitsubishis or Mercedes in here. Anyone know how these hold up???

My 1979 Toyota Corolla had over 100,000 and was easily serviced!

Cleo - only 100,000? That's like the 40 year old virgin of cars - it hasn't really had the chance to show you it's endurance level yet.....but if it's lasted that long, it's probably not a lemon.

Well, it had more than that, but I sold it in 1992, so I don't know how many more miles it has on it now. I know I see plenty of them still around in Denver and they're still going!

That's true - I still see some around here in California. Right up there with the old VW hippie buses and ancient Volvo's. It's hard to tell what kind of cars they are due to all the bumper stickers. My favorites are the pre-smog years that have the green bumper stickers that say 'Hug a Tree' or something like that, but you can't really read it through all the smoke their tailpipe is spewing out that is making the eyes water and causing everyone else to veer into my lane because they can't see either .

Re: Out of Curiosity.....Have You Run Your Car Over 300,000 Miles?

We have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee (Purchased in September, 1993). It has over 260,000 miles on it. Because DH has also been using it for his second job doing irrigation work (lawn sprinklers, etc.) (and the A/C went at the beginning of this past summer, just before the 90 degree plus weather hit), we just got a 2005 Jeep Liberty in September of this year!! It's our 4th Jeep (including the other one). The first one was silver, the second was black. Our '94 is white and our '05 is the color I've wanted for quite awhile - it's called Beryl Green, but it lools like either Hunter Green or Forrest Green!!

We had a Mitsubishi Magna sedan, I think it was a late 70s model. My partner's Dad gave it to him after he'd had it 5 years and we actually have a photo of the odometer on 300,000! We saw it was on 299,998 and went and drove around a car park until it hit the magic 300,000. We sold it because we could buy a replacement car for less than repairs would cost (needed a new engine and some other stuff).
