When I started in the life insurance business this was one of the questions I asked. It is because the insurance is for the ones left living! Afterall, they are the ones that benefit from it. Basically it insures that they can afford to continue living w/o the income or help of the deceased.

      Re: A Rhetorical Question

Here's one I read over the weekend on a jar of cheese-flavored salt for popcorn.

It said to spray air-popped corn with a no-fat vegetable oil like olive oil.

And why are gooseberries called gooseberries, when they don't look goose-y at all?

Why do people classify things as "red" when they are obviously purple or pink? Red grapes for instance.

                Re: A Rhetorical Question

If a parent is really upset about needing to sign a consent form for her minor daughter to see a doctor, when it's "just a cold," why doesn't she get some over the counter remedies, tuck the girl into bed for two days and be done with it? Am I the only one who doesn't see a doctor when it's "just a cold"?

Why are my students amazed to see me typing in English? They KNOW I don't speak Japanese. Why do they think I could write it?

Why is it so cold in here?

Why do I see signs on baby's toys which say "not suitable for children under 3 years old". I've seen no OVER-3-years old really interested in a rattle.

Why does the top I'm wearing today always look like it has stains on it? I don't drop food all over my bosom yet there are these little stains. If an eyelash falls out and lands on my top, it would probably leave a little greasy stain. Why? Why?

Why do people feel the need to waste everyone's time and spread their germs around by going to the doctor when they have a cold when everyone knows there is no cure for the cold and the doctor is just going to send them home and tell them to rest up?
