Re: "Super Size Me" Movie -- Have you seen it?

I watched it with a spoon of salt, being a skeptic as to whether the stats for the guy were fudged a bit, but the movie still changed my opinion of fast food the way "Jaws" affects me even today once I get more than waist deep.

Every time I've eaten McD's (or similar fare) since, my brain voices whisper "t-r-a-a-a-n-s f-a-a-a-a-t" and I see a vision of un-decomposed 1000-year-old fries next to a mummy...

No, Kat, I still haven't seen it. But it's up there on the list of things I have to watch when I have time.

Re: "Super Size Me" Movie -- Have you seen it?

I just rented this movie over the weekend and had to come on here and see if this has been talked about.

I know that its gross to think about but i was eating fast food everyday - and the part when he said he feels sick on the way to get the food but once he's eating it everything is ok - really kinda hit me. i cant believe how true that it. there was a point a while back that i got upset because i was going to fast food everyday for lunch and as i was pulling out of the parking lot at work i would say there is no way i can eat that stuff anymore - then because i wasnt prepared i would go there and once i started to chomp everything was ok. i wouldnt feel sick, but when i stopped...watch out!

this movie made me cry (stupid i know) because me and my fiance work basically 24-7 and have really fast paced lives and fast food is always there and it really hurts when you actually see what it does to your body.

after the fiance watched this he got so mad at himself for all the junk he eats.

so...(sorry for ranting) but i loved this movie and also think everyone should watch it.

I'm convinced that a lot of restaurants actually add some secret ingredient that actually stimulates the appetite like a drug to foods to make you come back for seconds!

I feel that way about just about any processed foods.

              I think it is SUGAR!

Just about everything you look at has sugar in it -- and if sugar is that addictive, then it must bring the public back for more.

(Not to mention all the sodium.)

Re: "Super Size Me" Movie -- Have you seen it?

I've seen it twice...once on purpose and the second time for biology class; it was really one of those good/gross movies.

I had issues with this guy and his idea of having to eat nothing but high carbed stuff when he could have chosen the nonfried/salad/etc...stuff. But then that would defeat his purpose of trying to show how folks who eat the high carbed/sugar ladded stuff can turn out to be...very ill.

We live in the vacninty of Orida...King of french fry and onion ring maker! Try being down wind on their onion ring days....oohhhhhhhh

Our neighbor has been employed there for years and has told us they make french fries for Burger King, McDonalds, and Wendy's. They have to "retool" and "reload" the fries for Burger King and it's a really pain in the rear job because BK uses their "special" sugar to coat their fries. He cringes every time they get an oder from BK...he knows it's going to be a job and a 1/2 to do every time.
