It's mine. It's an antique. You would have to understand my childhood to really understand it. We didn't have many toys growing up and we loved the show. I'm very sentimental and that's why the doll means so much to me.

WOW! You got a Mrs Beasley doll! I'm jealous

We were talking the other day, I wish I still had my original Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

Somewhere, I've got a Shirley Temple doll. When we moved back in '93, I didn't see it, hopefully it's just in a box somewhere. My mother also kept the following dolls that were popular in the early to mid '60's: Thumbalina, Kissy and one doll whose name has slipped my mind (old age you know ), but it was a tall doll that was supposed to walk!!

My DH gave me a lovely cook book (already adapted a breakfast recipe to Atkins!), some DVDs and little things, AND - wait for it - a box of SIXTY Ferrero Rocher chocolates. "I thought you could have one for a treat smetimes' he says!! Aaarghh! So they are in the fridge and it will be one a week - and I can hand 'em out to guests with their coffee, and to the neighbours over the road, and the postman, and the electricity meter reader, and anyone else who loos remotely like stopping near our house!!!

But he is a dear lovable guy, really.

I got a huge birdhouse (requested by me) from DH that's made out of old barn wood (love it), a couple of gift certificates (one for a pedicure and another for a clothing store), a pair of earrings, a nutcracker to add to my collection and a bag full of yummy lotions and sprays from Bath & Bodyworks...it was a great Christmas, I'm a happy camper !

We got a box of chocolates and a big can of candied popcorn from bf's relatives...there's no way I want those things in this apartment, so he took them to work for his co-workers.

My advice, hand those out ASAP!

I had a box of Cherry Brandy liquer chocolates from my 85 year old great aunt. I thanked her, but then wrapped them up and gave them to my GF's dad.

Everyone else who I I get presents from knows me too well, but at 85 my great aunt doesnt remember that I dont eat chocolate.

DVD recorder, gas top grill, DVDs including the Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice too, Megs! I love that one and really needed a 'refresher course' as I've only read the book about five times!!!!

I have two favorites! My husband got me a strand of lavender pearls with a matching bracelet and earrings - they're so pretty, a really soft lilac color. He's getting better and better at this jewelry buying thing. And my mom got me this Dooney & Burke purse. I love that my mom appreciates the importance of a completely overpriced designer handbag.

Oooo, that looks very nice...did you go to dinner already or are you saving it for after the holiday's? If you went, what did you have?

And I LOVE the idea of donations like that...I wish I could convince my MIL to do something like that in the our names instead of the gifts!

not yet I am saving it

it is a fantastic place and win win when it is me eating and someone else who can not or would not eat if someone did not donate!!!

if no one is donating in your name start doing it for other people that is how this happened I was giving people gifts of food bank donations in their names and then I got this great dinner for two from my husband along with the donation in my name

of course he thinks he is coming with me you know
