Excellent idea Heidi...I have a few people on my 'list' that never want anything (or really need anything)...that would be a great tradition to start!

one time I donated $$$ cross country to my mothers local humane society with the option for her to adopt or just leave it as a donation in her name..she adopted

Oh people think nurses should have LOTS of chocolate and other snacks..patients bring stuff in the entire season..so what I do ..because I am lucky enough to work in several clinics is take the stuff from one clinic and drop it in the breakroom of another.... that worked until my last day when I was given all kinds of crap and had to take some home...

I confess ..I lost my resolve...it is back!!! But for a day there I was completely out of control with the chocolate ...no regrets it was fun for a day

That's awesome about the humane society and the adoption!

And I'm glad you got your resolve back and that it was just one day...but doesn't it just drive you crazy that that sugar monster still has that much control of the old brain?? I would think eventually I could eat a something like that and not want to put on a feed bag of the stuff...but I have learned that will NEVER happen for me (*sigh*)...oh well...I have lot's of other good things to eat, right?!

Sal, right now I'm endulging on Colin Firth (Pride and Prejudice) and Richard Armitage (North and South)---well, it's better than endulging in some carby food!

          Heidi: Aerosmith....Cool!

            I love give give gifts

and you are right 10 months now at goal (ok in a week it will be) and I still have to be careful when and where I eat any sugar at all...somedays it is fine I can take a bite and be over it in a minute ..but if the moon is wrong or anything I will see my resolve go right down the old toilet...

eating this way for me was horrible in the beginning then suddenly it clicked and loving to cook is really a plus because I eat the most amazing food!..there is not really much "want" for me in this .. I eat very well

Megs I am really excited oh yeah I am such a music whore !!!!

Oh books!!! Well we got "Found" from http://www.foundmagazine.com/
I did not put it down ..I did not even know this was out there ..I always pick up notes and stuff I find that people have written and wondered what was behind them ..and never knew there was a whole webpage or book about it...really cool

Oh Colin Firth is soooo very 'indulgeable in' isn't he Megs? And you're right... much better than carby foods! But now you've got me wondering about North and South... had never heard about that one, over here in the depths of Italy... is it worth ordering?
