When you hit 40, what was one thing you noticed about yourself?

I noticed that I can't see close-up anymore. It is hard to read lipstick tubes, pluck my eyebrows, and even stare close into my DH's eyes. I've always had perfect eyesight and it is hard to imagine that I, da Kat, have blurry vision now. I even own a pair of reading glasses!!! Egad!

Does this mean...I'm crossing over...?

I turned 40 this past September and the only thing I've noticed is how great my life has got in the last few years....and how much greater it's going to next in the next 40 years. It was just another day (with big diamond earrings thrown in )

When I turned 30 I was in a really horrible place in my life...in a relationship that was headed nowhere and I thought to myself that there was NO WAY I was going to turn 40 with another 10 lost years to reflect back on. So I made some tough changes.

When I turned 30, my bf and I hopped on our scooters and met up with some friends for the 1st Annual Moochiecat Birthday Scooter Ride, and I noticed that life was very much worth living and I was amazed at how far removed I was from the 30 year old person I used to be.
But keeping to the original intent of this thread I noticed as well that the skin under my eyes seems to be more like plastercine now...I can move it around and it stays where I move it to...it never used to be that way before. I also noticed that I have permanent laugh lines on my face that never really smooth out.

But gosh darn it...I hop on that scooter and I could care less...lol...here's a teeny tiny picture of me on my bike.

7 more years before I turn 40...

feels weird sometimes growing older...

I am glad I'm not in my 20's anymore, 30's have been much better for me so far...
just can't wait to get this weight off of me, so at least I will be healthier and look better too, and feel more comfortable with my body.

Hubby and I are planning to have a baby in a few years time, once our finances settle down and I told him I don't want to get pregnant at this weight again (i was heavier than I am now when I got pregnant with my 2nd child...and when I was 20 I was pregnant with my older son...but my weight back then was 170 lbs--), so by the time I finish losing this weight, plus another year or two I'll be pregnant hopefully !lol

I guess I'm a bit nervous about getting pregnant after the age of 35, but hey if wannabe can do it with flying colours than so can I!

wanna, do i have to wait until I reach 40 to get pregnant....or how does it really work? lool just joking hehe

That's right! If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I think it only happens when you're 40....not sure how though.

Right at 40 I didn't feel any different than I did at 30. Now that I'm almost 45 I'm getting the bad up close vision thing going on! It freaked me out, it seems like one day I had 20/20 vision and then the next day I couldn't read the fine print on a box of mac and cheese I was making for John-- I hate it! I have little reading glasses stashed all over the place now! John says they make me look sexy though, so that helps! LOL
