  • Anyone Else seen BodyWorlds 2?

The exhibition features more than 200 authentic human specimens, including entire bodies, individual organs and transparent body slices that have been preserved through the process of "Plastination," a technique that replaces bodily fluids and fat. BODY WORLDS offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see and understand our own physiology and health and to gain new appreciation and respect for what it means to be human.
I just got home from it and it was amazing! I can't believe the muscles and tendon's and workings of the body. they have all sorts of organ displays as well, smoker vs. non smoker lungs, tumours, etc. In Toronto even have a full corpse of a camel and a horse which was kinda cool. hard to describe..here is a link (includes cities it's at)

The show is not for the squeamish...But i did take my 13 yr old stepdaughter and she said it was the coolest thing she'd ever seen. It's quite the biology/science lesson.

One of the things that was an eye opener for me was the 'slices' of the 300 lb man compared to a 140 lb man of the same height. it shows all the body fat and the affect it had on his body. it was fascinating. He died of obesity related heart failure at 50.

The whole show gave me a different persective of my body and how I treat it.

I would go to see it if it comes to St. Louis. It sounds interesting. I use to work at a place that taught dental students and they used cadavers for part of their studies. They were kept in big metal cylinders and I always wondered what they looked like. But I thought that it was somehow disrespectful to peek.
    53/female/241lbs.
