No, it is not what you think...

If you hold your index finger and your thumb together (turn your other fingers down) and then put your nose on the top of your thumb...your nose length should be from the tip of your thumb to the top of your index finger.

Mine works out here too. What about yours?

I learned these about 14 years ago when I lived/worked in North Carolina. Somehow they just stuck with me.
