One other thing I've heard about is that you can measure your height (without shoes) on a wall then take your middle finger and put it on that point and touch the floor with the middle finger of your other hand. This would mean that your height and your arm span were the same.
Okay, I must say that I've always had trouble finding sleeves long enough for me. The shirt I have on today (a cute brown thermal-type shirt) showed the girl modeling it with the sleeves gathered by her wrist because they looked long. I orderd the shirt and as I type this message the sleeve length looks like a three-quarters sleeve on me. Hum...
(I've learned to accept it because otherwise I'd have no long-sleeved shirts.)
So, according to the measurement above and my life experiences my arms are longer in proportion to my height or longer than they should be.
