Re: Man trips and destroys priceless vases

That sucks all around, but those Vases waited for 40 years to be knocked off the window sill, it's a good thing the museum doesn;t have cats, those vases wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes at my house

It was just an accident...poor guy! But from his interview it doesn't sound like he's taking responsibility for the damage her caused...hmmmm

I'm actually surprised that if they were really that valuable that they weren't secured somehow, so no one could pick one up and take it with them. The whole thing sounds kinda fishy to me.

Mmm hmmm. And they would have been insured. Not replaceable, but insured nonetheless.

well that is one museum I will never visit. Imagine, not being able to trip down a flight of stairs without old chinese vases falling and splintering into a million pieces -why didn't the museum have a display of thousand year old pillows piled at the bottom of the stairs for just such an accident! my goodness that poor man might have gotten a cut or something from all that glass!

I never thought of that! He could turn around and sue them. What are they thinking, leaving vases up on windowsills where they could fall at any time. He could have cut himeself! He could have gotten a concussion! Then there's the emotional trauma....
