I can only remember a handful of them, and I am not in contact with any of them anymore.

    What about you?

      Re: Remembering Teachers

i can remember one who meant something to me,
When I went to school, Dyslexia wasnt known or cared about and I wasnt a trouble maker so I slid from one grade to the next, till I met up with Mrs. Duffy in 11th grade. She made me think more of my self and all that. She cared
and she I remebered and thanks daily. She died a while back.

I went to 13 schools before graduating High School! Therefore, I remember little bits and pieces of lots of teachers, not too many names though. I only stay in touch with one, and even with that one its not very often.

I remember almost all of them and their names. I kept in contact with one of my HS math teachers through college, it was easy since I substitute taught while on breaks.

OMIGOD! You had Mr. Jerkface too????

I remember all of them. I don't keep in contact with any of them.

I had a "teacher" in high school who used to spend 20 minutes yelling at our class everyday for things the classes before us had done. Lucky me, I had her for fifth period. It was painful.

                  Re: Remembering Teachers

I've only been out of school for 5 years, so it's no wonder I still remember mine lol.
But my mother always sees some of my primary school teachers, and they always seem to ask about me!

The day before I moved to the States, so about 2 years ago now, I was at my last day at work, upset anyway for leaving everyone, and my high school teacher came in. I hadnt seen her in 4 years, so I didnt think she'd remember me, but she did and we were talking for ages! It was weird to think that she remembered me because she was only my home room teacher for a year or two. But then to find out that she's only a few years older than me was even weirder lol.

I wish I'd kept in touch with my college professors though. Two of them are still living close to me, so I see them at the pub and the atm (haha, I ALWAYS seem to see them there!) but I loved my college professors.

                    Re: Remembering Teachers

My college professors were outstanding, except for this one professor who had tenure, was on the verge of retiring and was really really mean-spirited.

I keep in contact with them and I usually see them once a year during alumni functions.

But my elementary, junior high and high school teachers....I just hope that schools have changed and teachers have a better attitude than they did. Don't get me wrong I had a few very good teachers.

I remember pretty much all of them, but then I went to a small school... I'm living back in my hometown now and I still see a lot of them on a regular basis, and feel fortunate to have many of them as friends.

                          Re: Remembering Teachers

I can remember them all and I went to 7 different schools with 4 of them having team teaching so you changed teachers every class. I rememeber my Mrs Jerkface very well even her name, as almost every kid who had her knew the words to the song made up about her. SHe had open class and told you what you needed to do to get an A, gave no extra credit for extra work, told me she knew I knew the answer and not to raise my hand and grading periods were 6 weeks long. finished my A work by week 2 and was bored out of my mind for 4 more weeks. She complained I had been missplaced in her class and obviously wasn't smart enough to be in it cause I just stared out the window all class. man what a jerk. Needless to say I was retested and then her teaching methods were investigated and I was required to do more work even though I already had finsihed the A work.

I see many of my high school teachers when I return to town and one kept up with me

Keeping in mind that I started kindergarten in September, 1959:

                            K - Sister Ann
                            1 - Sister Adele
                            2 - Sister Geraldine
                            3 - Sister Elizabeth
4 - Mrs. Holtz (who left halfway through the year - husband was in the Army) and Miss McDevitt
                            5 - Sister Ella Mae
                            6 - Sister Louise and a teacher in the p.m. who's name I can't remember)
7 - Sister Mary Regina (my all-time favorite teacher)
8 - Sister Theresa (my all-time least favorite teacher)

I also remember most of the names of my teachers in High School. In fact, back in 2001, a gentleman came into the office I was working to get a will done (I worked in Legal Services for the Gov.). I recognized him right away. I had him for Geometry in 11th Grade 9/70-6/71 and Trigonometry (sp?) in 12th grade (9/71-6/72).

If other people are naming their teachers...lol:

                              K: Mrs Davis
                              K: Mrs J Thomas
1: Mrs Gray, replaced by Mrs Loft
                              2: Mrs Adams
                              3: Mrs Harding
                              4: Mrs Thomas
                              5: Mrs Harding again

6th grade Started high school, so had different teachers for each class (9 a day lol) but I had the same home room teacher for 6th and 7th - Mrs Pelter
8th, 9th and half of 10th grade was Miss Ashton
Didnt have a home room teacher for the second half of 10th grade!

College then, I had Lesley, Paula and Mike for the first year, and Chris, Trini, Jarrod, Jim, Rob, Yana and Lisa for 2nd and 3rd

Granted, I left out a lot of my teachers, but I'm not even going to attempt to name all my high school teachers because we had 9 classes a day, and switched teachers every semester, so it was hundreds every year haha
