    Re: Preferred Vacation Destination!

Hmmm. That's a toughie. I guess I'd pick Australasia because I've always wanted to see Australia and New Zealand and I don't think I'll ever be able to afford it in this lifetime. We did a bus tour of Europe for our honeymoon. We saw London, Paris, Lyon, Barcelona, Athens, Mykonos, somewhere in Germany (sorry, I forget), somewhere in Switzerland, Amsterdam, Venice, Pompeii, Florence, Rome.....I think I've forgotten a few. It took 5 weeks and then we spent a week on our own in London. I would definitely go back to Europe. I especially loved Barcelona, Florence and London. I'd also love to see more of the States and Canada. Well, that was a long answer to a short question. Hee.

LIR, how much would a flight cost you from where you live to Australia?

the prices are coming down all the time from here. We can pick up a flight now for around £500. probabyl around $1000 in your money. But I am sure it will be cheaper from where you are.

Well, Rich, if I left this weekend and stayed for a week, it looks like it would cost me about $1,200 Canadian for a return flight. Add another $1,000 to that if I stay another week or more. Soooooo, for my entire family to go, we're looking at over $5,000 just in airfare.

Fair comment. I was going from my experiences. food and drink in Britain is a lot more expensive than it is in Aus and US for that matter. I was forgetting that it would probably be the same difference between you and there.

As Karen said, theres not really much point going all that way for just a week.

when I went it was for 2.5 weeks, and even that wasnt enough.

Tough question, I wanna go everywhere. I picked Australasia 'cause I've been to Australia and want to go again as well as New Zealand. BUT...I really want to go to Europe as well. England, Scotland, Ireland, France...

Yes, there's just too much world to see. I've seen more than a lot of people and yet I feel like I've hardly seen anything.

                      Re: Preferred Vacation Destination!

It's snowing here today, so I picked Southern Hemisphere continents!

Besides, I've seen most of the U.S., and a lot of Europe and Asia already.

                        Re: Preferred Vacation Destination!

I picked South America, Africa and Asia.

South America, it is my dream to go there! My boyfriend's from Peru, and I really want to go there and see the inca trails and the llamas and such. It looks like such a lovely place! I also want to go to Venezuela - I had a friend from there and his home town was GORGEOUS! OMG I fell in love with it when he showed me pictures! I also want to see the Amazon rainforest.

Africa, I'm hoping to go this year. I'm either going to Greece or Egypt to work, and I'm really, really hoping for Egypt!

I've been to asia, but I went to Turkey and meh, hated it (pretty places, but perverted men...not for me) but I want to go to the other end of asia. May actually come under Australasia, but yeh...haha

I'm sick of the UK and USA. They're not vacation destinations! And living in Orlando is enough to put anyone off lol. I've traveled around the US quite a bit while living out there though, and I've seen loads of places off Route 66 which are so nice! I've also traveled a lot of the East Coast and found some lovely places apart from where I've lived. UK, meh. Cant stand it. Dont even think of going on vacation there! Why?! It's a dirty country, and the only places that are remotely interesting (to me anyway) are the brecon beacons and snowdonia in wales, and the lake district. I've found a few little villages while driving randomly, and they're like picture perfect postcards. But I know they're not why people go to the UK on vacation lol.
Out of the two, I much prefer living in the US. And if it wasn't for the fact that I keep having to move with my job, I'd be there permanently rather than going back and for every month or two.

Ummm, so I'm guessing you do not work for the Tourist Board of U.K. Heee. So why do people go to the UK on vacation then? Just wondering.

Didn't know what this was "Australasia" but now I would change my vote from Europe to Australasia. Right now though I would rather go to the Caribbean.

                              errrmmm Rich?????

You forgot to put Middle East as your other choice!!

My choice of vacation? There are so many places I want to go to. ANyone looking for a very peaceful, yet exotic place in the Middle East.......OMAN!!!!

It's right next door to the UAE, and it is sooo beautiful, the people are very friendly too. Muscat (oman) is sooo beautiful! We want to drive all the way down to Salalah (near the Yemeni border) one day too. Other places I'd like to go to in the Middle East are Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt.

I also want to go back to Europe, Italy, Greece, Scandinavia, Iceland, UK, Spain, Turkey, etc

Been to Australia but want to go back, and also New Zealand.

South America too is another place I'd love to go to.

And also go to some of those very remote island paradises in the midst of the Indian Ocean ( like Seychelles) or Andaman Islands (between India and Australia).....or the SOuth Pacific....(i did stop over for an hour in Tahiti on the way home from Australia, and it looked gorgeous just from the short airport visit......would love to go into the city of Papeete, Tahiti again and actually stay there!!!!
