  • First TV show you remember watching

I remember the Lucky Strike Theater. It was hosted by Robert Montgomery, Bewitched star Elizabeth Montgomerys father. But I'm old as snot.

My uncle was the first person in town to get a color tv. We didn't even have a b/w tv so we thought he was a millionaire. He wouldn't let anyone come and watch his tv, he kept a white sheet over it. On Sunday night, he'd let people in his house...it was always crowded with relatives and a few friends...and he'd uncover the tv. Everyone had to be quiet or he wouldn't turn it on. When he did, we'd watch Bonanza and see the Cartwrights bust through the flaming map of Virginia City. Then, after it was over...he'd hurry over and put the sheet back over the tv. It would stay dormat for another week till Bonanza came on again. He was afraid if he used it too much, he would wear it out.

Grizzly Adams in the evening. That is the first show that I can remember watching. We just had other things to do and very rarely had the tv on. Usually we had on the radio or were listening to reel to reel or 8 tracks or albums.

Mr. Dress-Up, Uncle Bobby, Flintstones, Gilligan's Island. There were tons more in the late 60's but these are what I remember as being the earliest shows.
