Well 6 weeks later, I am finally back. I got in yesterday and am still dealing with some of the "honeydos" that accumulate from being gone for 6 weeks (like my main computer taking a dive in the last week), but for all intents and purposes, I am back to being an active contributing member. It was a long absence, and I sorely missed this place and all other comforts of home. The intelligence course was interesting, and it could make for an interesting Guard career. I still don't know if this is my calling or not, but nevertheless Laura (Sombersusie) made it through this period of physical separation -- gives new respect for all those spouses who have done it for 18 months without all the creature comforts of the occasional Internat chat session.

Re: I am back....
But of course... I did it completely low carb. There were somedays it was hard, but you make choices. I won't say I was perfect, but if I failed at all, it was due to my nut consumption not because wrong food selection. I eventually decided to buy my nuts in single serving packages rather than in a can because the cans weren't lasting as they should. The toughest thing to do right low carb was salads. All the dressings in the Dining Facility were higher carb no-Fat ones - UGH! I resorted to bringing my own bottle of Hidden Valley ranch with me to solve that problem. Where there is a will there is a way.Originally posted by 2big4mysizewelcome back

Given a stricter military environment it might have been more difficult to be as low carb as I was (the last week was only MRE -- Meals, Ready to Eat, ut I brought my own grilled chicken salad with me on those days). On top of everything else, I was running about 4-5 miles per day as well.Kent - 35-M-6'4"
