  • Computer system allows parents to track kids' cafeteria eating habits

HOUSTON (AP)-- Within the next year, Houston parents will gain a new tool to control what their kids eat.

An automated cafeteria system lets parents dictate and keep track of their lunchtime choices.

The prepaid accounts let parents declare sweets or other things off limits.

Parents can also go online and track their child's eating habits and make changes if needed.

I heard about this on the radio on my way to work. Some of these systems show the cashier a picture of the child when they put in their lunch code, that way they can't use their friends code to get junk food, etc.

Honestly, if I had kids, and I was worried about their health, I wouldn't let them eat cafeteria food at all.

Yea, they were saying on the radio that kids are still going to "trade" food and the bullies are still gonna beat you up and steal your potato chips! hahaha
