  • Tesco is Coming to US

    http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/24/news...o_us/index.htm

I'd only ever heard of it through UK Atkineers, but apparently this new competition has bigger retailers (read: Wal-Mart) worried. Can anyone help to illustrate the difference between a Tesco and a regular US supermarket: Walmart, Giant, etc?

Well here is the Tesco UK site

        http://www.tesco.com/

UK Supermarket ASDA was talen over by Walmart a couple of years ago - I don't know how much difference it made, but here is the site.

        http://www.asda.co.uk/

ASDA is reckoned to be a little cheaper than Tesco and Sainsbury (the other biggy)

hmmmm when i was in europe i liked tesco.... of course it wasn't as huge a walmart and such, and the ones that i went to (prague and one of the many in the london/maindhead area) only had like clothes, a few notebook type things and then everything you would find in like a super stop and shop....more emphisis on food than walmart.....for those in the uk/europe is the tesco corp as EVIL as walmart?
