    One morning in november our phone rang early - it was BIL calling from the phillipines to say that MIL was on the floor in california and he tried calling her several times and she wasn't moving (her webcam is kept on and SIL saw her laying on the floor not moving) - he tried 911 and couldn't get thru - DH relayed this to me, while they were talking I called the sherriff's department by her place on our other line in Norway - 5 to 10 minutes later the paramedics were there with her and saved her life. MIL is diabetic and was in shock.
    So the webcam saved her life.

          To be honest that is the reason I started this thread, as I thought the main reason was for Cyber sex also. Its refreshing to see that it isn't necessarily the case.

          I was talking about getting a web cam, and my gf said that if I did, she would dump me!!!! lol (i guess she thinks they are only used for one reason also).

            My bf and I live together and we still use our computers for dating... why dont you get her a web cam too???

              My gf is a very old fashioned girl, and doesnt really like computers that much. I guess she is just afraid of the unknown

                Can't see anything wrong with cyber sex via webcam, as long as it's safe and consensual.... lots of couples can't be together as much as they'd like and have to take what they can get, I guess.

                  I had one but got rid of it when i accidently found 'racey' pics of my 16 yr old neice that was living with me, on the hard drive. they were stills she had taken (you can do this with a webcam) of herself, not nude..but enough that it was wrong, guess she had no idea they saved into a folder on the harddrive.

                  My neice no longer lives with me for different reasons. but I have a 13 yr old stepdaughter and she wont have a webcam anytime soon , she can get one when she's 21 or 30 and has her own place LOL. I would'nt let a teenager anywhere near one now..i had no idea what was going on ...everyone always thinks their kids would 'never do that'.. and i was one of them. i'm afraid to even know what else may have went on.

                    LIke others have said I have 2 grown kids and 2 grandchildren that live cross country from me. I couldn't live with out seeing my grandbabies grow!
