Thanks guys. You know I don't even remember how I found ADBB, but I had just moved to Japan and had decided that any diet that let me eat cheese and bacon was for me. Actually it made so much sence to me, carbs were nothing but sugar and sugar made you fat.
The board was just a few days old when I found it, but I didn't know that. I didn't know much about boards but this one seemed to be so supportive. I joined and I have rarely missed a day, (except for that little stint in Iraq)
I lost 50 pounds, went from 270 to 220 and that was taking beta blockers and other meds that the good Dr said would stall weight loss. It didn't stall me but my losses were so slow I was often discouraged. This board kept me on track.
Just about that same time, Dr Atkins had his accident and passed away and this whole board cried together, and we became a family.

I said Family and I mean just that. We are still family. Look at us. we get into huge arguements, we whine, we *****, we complain. We also complement eachother, we send prayers to one another, we kick butt when someone needs butt kicking, but we do it because we are family and we love and we need and we support eachother.
I may never get to goal, but that doesn't seem so important any more. I exercise three times a week, I eat a healthy diet and I feel good about myself and my life. I have met some wonderful people, people who I am proud to call friends.
AND did I mention I am retired now.

I tossed a complete fit when you told me you were going on Atkins....


then I ditched my SB book and tried it ..because you had lost 50lbs!!!!

I was on South Beach back then!!!! LOL go figure on that one!!

I remember Lynne talking about trying to convence her friend to join us way back when. who know what a great cooking energized person we was getting.

i remember the notes from iraq "I'm fine that bomb landed down the block from me" I remember sneaking Atkins low carb stuff like flax meal cereal and other microwavabel Atkins supploes into the care packages fo your "french" cafe over there too so i know what you mean by that except for iraq you did try but messhale chow is high carb.

I aslo remember you were our test dummy forthe new rage in diets like the GI one but in the end you always came back to Atkins.

you have made many many changes to the face of ADBB the health forums the STAC forum and others. you held ADBB together in the RR crisis and convinces our beloved Bren she needed us more then we and curves needed her and she is back where she belongs i got to say when i ask you if you'd be interested in being the 50s mod way back in 2003 I knew you'd be good for us but not that good.

oh andfor anybody not recognizing that line about it being 3 long yrs it referres tothe tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree song and our Desertthorn has agreed to ADMIN the sister southbeach bord which is what the link in her siggy takes you to.

I am loving this thread! Only on a thread devoted to Lynne............2big crossed the barrier (entered the realm of the DARK SIDE) and mentioned SOUTH BEACH!!!!!!! No one else could ever get her to say such a thing! See Lynne! Your the best!
